  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

5.30 start for me!

I don't do mornings Si that's why im staying over

Baz I dislike you more and more as you get more good stuff. I know you've been after the American for a while.

I'm not going to this show...I wasn't invited....

What's the issues with the short shift then Stephen? Ive never fitted one so just assumed being from japspeed they'd be tried and tested by now..

I'm fairly certain that the stick is on the right way round,I don't think it's ever been off by the look of it.. Although I could be wrong.. It might just be the fact I have premium pork sausages for fingers so they're a little thicker than the average chipolata.. Bit like the owner..

I'd like some advice on.the short shifter before I fit it, cos I don't need the issues if it's gonna be a pain in.the Harris.. I'd rather the pain in the knuckles than.cause any gearbox issues..

Distance from the gear knob to the centre consol. The plastic horizontal under the stero is 110mm.

Well Im ready for tomorro now.....

Track day rear tyres back on.

All wheel nuts torqued.

Oil and brake fluid topped up. Water checked n OK.Likewise powersteering fluid.

Washed... but not polished... cant polish turds Im told.:whistling:

As the passengers will be non helmeted I added some padding to the roll cage.Fans of my orange roof please note the matching colour scheme:innocent:

They will all have signed a disclaimer about taking part but better to try and protect them as much as possible.:thumbup1:

I will be ensuring they all understand how the harness fits and that they have their feet firmly on the rest.

If this year is like last I will have a few kids/youngsters on board so the adjustable rails on the seat ensure I can get them safely wedged in.

300ZX Motorsport banner loaded too.

Just need a fill up of VPower to complete the job.

Looking forward to some fun track action now. Im not sure how busy/popular I will be. There are more track cars than last year... but Im guessing there are more guests too.

Ha ha just spotted the token gesture piece of carpet in the passenger footwell pete.

LOl!!

Its spray glued in place.

Saves the paint getting scratched:thumbup1:

See you in the morning. Im off to bed now:yes:

I thought I'd knock up a little "show plate" (just for Pete) for my rear plate as a random idea I had at work.

I cut out a small piece of aluminium, a few mm bigger than my rear plate. Primed it and painted it gloss black and applied a Z32 silhouette decal in white. I attached a little hanger to hook it over the rear plate. Then I thought I'd give it just that little bit of extra depth by placing perspex over the top.

Here is a pic on the car but without the perspex attached:

And a couple of pics with the perspex over the top:

Yay or nay?

Well today I've got a lot on, just had the skip arrive to finally get shot of a load of stuff from my workshop, garden and house..

Once all that is gone, I'm getting the dremel out to grind the one and only spot of rust I've found on my zed.. A little grinding, some rust cure, primer and a little touch up.. Once she's all dry again, some Maguires wash n wax then a good Polish and after finishing spray.. She'll look like glass when I'm done..

Waiting on some bits from automodz.. I'll be fitting the colour coded steering wheel, series 2 ptu and a set of new coil packs as I seem to have a small misfire under power..

Still itching for the rims to arrive! She's gonna look beautiful in those new heels.. Gonna take the plenum balance tube off and spray it the body colour once the seals arrive too.

Looking to get some red silicone intercooler hoses in exchange for the blue ones I've got. Anyone got some red ones? I'm also looking for a set of afterburner rear lights.. Any ideas where they can be found?

I think Z centre has the afterburner lights, I personally think the 99 spec lights are the only ones for a Z. I'm not gone on afterburners:whistling:

A "YAY" from me also!! I think it looks very well:thumbup1:

And me - that will look good at the....... thing we discussed by PM yesterday...

Where ya all going? See u in the morning? Is there a meeting on somewhere?

Kind of mate - but not the usual thing. All will be revealed later when the pics go up.....!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Had a great day. Car and driver both working well.(I dont count a couple of half spins at the hairpin as a problem.):whistling:

Passengers had a two lap trip and the 15 or so I took all declared they enjoyed it.

Comments like "Wow I didnt think it would be that fast" just go to making it worthwhile for me.

Its alway interesting for me personally to be out among some REALLY fast cars. I look n learn.

Fastest today by some margin was a black GTR. I did notice some disctete Litchfield sineage on some engine bay components.

The owner has clearly spent more on tuning than the £10K that my car owes me

There shouldnt be much for me to do for next weekend and TOTB.

It was nice to catch up with "the polishers" who had a good display that was a credit to the club. Respect due to them all.

Thats no turd Pete but a well sorted street/race car

Thanks Gary.

It is a bit scruffy round the edges but it does what its supposed to on strip and track.

I've just got back pete after a nice drive back with the roof's off all the way.

Lots of admiring looks on the motorway.

Yeah it was a perfect day for driving.

I get lots of looks on the motorway too.

Are they admiring?????

Or are they muttering WTF is that??

:lol::lol::lol:
