  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Today, I gave my Zed a good wash followed by a wipe down with Auto Finesse Glisten - and then got it back inside the garage just before the rain set in!!

Hence the lack of pictures save for these two?

Don’t you just love the reflections off the bonnet when they’re clean and shiny! ?

Today I stripped the scuttle panels off my Z due to a fatal schoolboy error of starting the car with the wiper switch left in motion from earlier in the week.

The frost/ice held the wipers firmly in place whilst popping the arms off the motor ?‍♂️

All back together now and wiping as it should, however I did notice the passenger side scuttle piece will need replacing. The plastic is really brittle and broken away in several places. Is this a common thing?

Would imagine it would be mate, plastic and age dont go overly well together.

The passenger side windscreen scuttles are usually damaged by not removing them first before taking the battery out. The factory finish on the plastic does

fade with age.

It's is. Most turn grey/white with age.

They are still available new from the usual sources. They are RHD and LHD specific so make sure you order the correct ones. They can be had for around £120 for the pair. Make sure you order new clip set with them too as the clips will break when you remove them.

Oh yes - even on a grainy phone-camera, it still hits the spot.... Neighbours probably think I am a bit mad, but I don't care....?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Today, I took my Zed out for a little drive - first one since Christmas....

.....Boy, did it feel good!

It was a nice mild, dry, day - no salt on the roads - it would have been rude not to?

Moved the Lady to her new home in Perth, was great to get out on the road again, can hopefully get some work done on her now that shes under proper cover and not just a car cover.

Today, I fitted a nice new K&N cone air filter - and replaced the previously installed Hella OEM-type horns with a pair of 350z jobbies, duly purchased from Banzai Breakers.

They give out a much louder "parp" which is more in-keeping with the presence of a Zed....?

I’m taking the Z out today going to Rolvenden in the heart of Kent!

Sunday drivers.?

Now that we're supposedly permitted to travel, I have given my Zed a couple of "proper" runs this weekend.....

Saturday, we drove to Mudeford in Dorset - it's been a long time since I've seen the sea, so it was worth the 240-ish mile round trip.
Sunday we had a nice day out in Bath - another 200 mile round trip.

Neither place was overly busy, the sun shone and - best of all - the motorways were quite as well..... Needless to say the Zed got a real work-out and burned a fair bit of fuel in the process...LOL?

After a *long* lockdown hibernation (did just 255 miles in 12 months!) did a service and check over to make sure everything was OK. One

thing that had decided to go awol was the oil pressure sensor which was reading low (at all RPMs) - a common fault. So it was replaced with

new and the oil pressure gauge is now reading as it should. On RHD cars the sensor is located on the n/s of the engine block near the oil pan.

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Yesterday, I took my Zed out on the ritual Sainsbury's run first thing - then filled it with Esso's finest and took the scenic route home. I really should have given it a wash, but it's mainly just dusty, so will leave it until next weekend.

I did, however, give the interior a hoover and wipe-down - along with some Gliptone leather treatment.

I also fitted my new tailored floor mats - I'll post a few pics in a separate thread - but I went for these:

Nissan 300ZX 1990-2000 Car Mats - In Stock - £19.99

"Executive" spec, in graphite grey with dark blue nubuck trim. They match the interior perfectly; the graphite grey is close enough to the the OEM carpets and other trim - and the dark blue nubuck is just the right complement to the series 2 alcantara.....

And I have a spare set if anyone is interested. Brand new - say £40 posted? A saving of £23 on buying them from the supplier?

Nice mats Richard and where is all this dust coming from? I washed our cars on Saturday but it wasn't long before they were covered in dust again.

After getting the new oem top and bottom radiator hoses fitted my Japspeed radiator started to leak! I have had this radiator for six years but only done under 14,000 miles so I sent Japspeed an email to see if they covered it under warranty or would they give me a discount for a new one but they never replied to me so I bought a new one on line the same size and shape as the Japspeed Radiator for a very good price. So hope this one lasts longer than me ?

Allegedly it's from the Sahara and being blown across by the contintenly winds
