Going to start this thread for members to post up what they did each day to there zed. I will start with getting my MOT this morning. So what did you do today on your 300?:cool3:

Heat was definitely what was needed. This little £15 heat gun that I randomly bought and never used has been a lifesaver

 

Lights out with ease, quick wipe away of the dirt behind, heat up the silicone again and fix the new ones in place ?

 

The whole conversion is quite a time consuming job all in. But for the money, worthwhile I feel ??

That’s very interesting about your wheels - My current buggered rear wheels are 18x10.5 ET40 but are fitted with 275 width tyres so have a stretched fit, which is why they clear my rear arches with no arch rolling needed. I went for the JR10 wheels and the rears I went for the exact same size as you. According to their wheel calculator I would need a 15mm spacer to match my existing fitment (mainly in relation to how they fill the arches), but after looking at your pics, the ET40 will fill the arches just fine, so I can get away with no spacers - result!

I think in the future I’ll probably order custom offset front wheels so I don’t need spacers, but I just had to get back on the road ASAP, and therefore couldn’t stomach the 3-4 weeks + delivery they were claiming.

I didn't need spacers on front or rear, with my off-sets - although I could have gotten away with et35 on the rear and still kept within the arches. I'm running 265/35/18 tyres on the back and 235/40/18 fronts, if that helps

Looks great indeed Akita - nice work mate!

All you need to complete the look, is the black sticker on the spoiler, just above the lights. Some folks have had theirs sprayed gloss black - I think I'll go down this route myself, as my black sticker has not worn as well as I'd have liked!

Your timing is impeccable, Richard. Just came up from the garage...

 

 

had some black vinyl so thought I’d give it a go. First time ever using the stuff. Not perfect, but think it helps tie it in somewhat.

Today I fiddled with my new boot catch - to get the setting right. It turned out to be trickier than I thought, mainly due to the poorly refitted rear trim panel. So I ended up removing all the boot panels and reinstalling them with new screws and bolts.....!

And to test it, I popped out for a drive along the worst road near me. I turned off the radio and, happy days, pretty much all previous rattles and squeaks seem to have disappeared. Job done

That’s a great help Richard and also your original post on wheel offsets was super helpful with the photos. Experience of other owners saves me and others hours and hours of endless researching online haha so thanks again!

So these little stickers just arrived. 

As mine is a UK car I won’t be putting the Fairlady Z part into the back, but does anyone have a photo of their car clearly square from the back? So I can see rough positioning? Please ?

It is not the clearest photo but these are the factory positions for UK spec:

I'd centralise using the light reflector for certainly the Turbo decal.

I always think just the UK NISSAN part is thrown too far left, just pin it and step back and again use the reflector as reference, how does it look ?.

A busy few weeks going on my Zed. I’m getting work done now that would have taken me years [emoji1] today I went to the lengths of slimming down the relay/fuse box as I’ll look to switch it into a smaller box.

The redundant rad fan relays and AC have gone along with the Fog which will go slimming me down to 6 relays and 6 fuses.

Dashboard will be coming out as I install my new flocked dash with the trio of AEM gauges in the centre and a little Nos kit I’ve had tucked away. Much to do and lots of time to do it. I will end of with an even barer engine bay as I look to tuck more away.

Looks fantastic mate well done! Very refreshed and timeless now. Have you started any of those other jobs you mentioned? the power steering I think you mentioned and some other bits?

Sounds great and the Z32 engine bay looks absolutely fantastic when all cables are tucked - really emphasises the engine. Wish I could do a tuck one day. 

I know I'm the same, with all this free time I'm getting tonnes of bits and bobs done to the car and throughout the house. 

Send some pics of the dash when its all done - looking forward to it!

Nothing else yet. But been busy working. Will spend most this weekend playing around with it though I should think ?

A quick power steering pot relocation this morning and continuing to tidy up my wiring looms.

Been going to town on just the one corner so far with a wire brush. Removed the old oem shock, too. 

 

Much happier now just left with solid metal. 

 

Have also now ordered a treatment kit from Rustbusters on the recommendation from Jimmer, too. So fitting the new shiny suspension can wait a week or so until my rustbuster order arrives and I can treat all the metal work properly first. ??????

Nothing I can do to mine in the car park, but got these in the post the other day too good for my car at the mo but will put away till worthy.

More engine bay tinkering for me tucking and deleting along the way. Second wife and is in now it was a bit tight to remove the O2 sensor needed a bit of heat but all the cabling will be routed through the old aircon grommets.

Obviously some Nos going in a kit I had off of Gibster years ago and had on the shelf and as I’ve got the dash coming out it gives me the ideal time to work all the wiring behind the dash. Many other things to go in behind the dash while it’s out.

The area around the brake booster has all been tidied and cleared with things moving to leave it bare. Installed a earthing kit as well as I needed a new earth to the gearbox after moving my battery to the boot.
