  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

They’re epic, we need more pics and specifically pics installed on the car and then a full action video would really get us going.

Please.

 I might have some OEM bolts somewhere in packets, really get things exciting.

I would imagine some members would get genuinely excited by that

I went for a little test run in my newly taxed spare slicktop.

First drive since i got it six years ago!!!

Overall Im pleased with it.

There is just a tiny misfire under load. So I will be looking at all the usual connectors for a bit of green corrosion.

Looking great Pete and whoever gets it will be a happy owner.

TBH it drove really nicely. Its many yesrs since I drove a stockish 300ZX

Smooth, quiet and effortless..............................Unlike the orange/black one which is harsh, deafeningly noisy and hard work to drive:whistling:

Member knightRacer is coming to look as soon as I track down this annoying little misfire

No joy on the prop shaft bearing or single piece prop I assume?

Well, guess it was worth a try..

Anyway for anyone looking for 2+2 parts, my breaker is gearing up ready to head to the knackers yard, so if anyone is after anything, let me know ASAP as the wifes face is turning a purple colour more frequently and this shell needs gone..

There's a few parts left, fuel tank, rear subframe, tank straps, suspension parts all round, knuckle, viscous fan and coupling, a crank which is going brown, abs unit, bonnet, interior parts etc etc.. Anything not gone will be going to scrap so let me know ASAP.

Happy to trade for other parts aswell as cash so if you have anything you don't need, let me know and maybe we can swap out or something.

Moving house at some point so having to clear out as much as possible.

Gimme a call on 07900887433 if you need any info..

Cheers

Is the panel that goes inside tailgate over wiper motor still there? Condition?

Thanks

Chris

I might be in Luton tomorrow as it happens, if my daughter can fit me in between Uni and work. Depending on what time you're around, might come have a rummage?

I'll be around from about midday until 4pm as I start work at 4.

Youre welcome to pop round if you can fit it in around those times mate..

If you're a little earlier it's fine but gimme a call before you arrive so I can peel my ass out if bed first haha..

My number is on the original post..

Sorry Chris, that panel was there but I binned it due to it being quite badly split and none of the fixing points were intact.

I did see one listed on the Facebook page recently so might be worth a look there Chris, it was a black one if I remember right and I think it was Emma winn Gordon that posted it?

What condition are the front arms in?

Took the Z out for a short run to get petrol today because it needed a run!

I am waiting for the garage to fit me in to change my gearbox.

Today i moved my new trackday project car to one side of the garage and make a start on curing the little misfire on the blue slicktop.

It will just be a case of working thu the key connectors to find some/one that is corroded.

CAS plug. looked OK. Cleaned and replaced.

PTU. removed the easier of the plugs. Looked fine. Cleaned. Replaced.

So far I have done three cylinders.

Coil pack connectors were really clean. Injector connectors all showed signs of the dreaded green corrosion.

These three have been cleaned with Terminal cleaner.

Three more to do......

I have also ordered a set of new NGK plugs. I know the ones in the engine have done very few miles but in the PO advert he mentioned "Denso plugs". Now they may be OK and they may be the correct heat range I dont know yet. They are coming out whatever when the NGKs arrive.

Thanks Gaz, think my z has been a little neglected over the past 3/4 months, dare I say!

Hoping to get the gearbox changed at the end of this month .

It's been so cold to get anything done on the car!

I got the front X member done back in April image.jpeg

Need to get the rear one done soon!

Not a ****ing thing. Haven't driven it since September. Can't wait for next month; this was far too long.

Pretty similar to me.....

Mine's been in the bodyshop since early-November and I am now sorely missing it.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

At least it's keeping it away from all the salty shit you usually drive in Richard!!!!

LOL - yeah; that's what Darren said when I spoke to him last week....

Maybe I'll have learnt from the experience and take a leaf out of your book, once I get it back.....

I think you should. There's a balance between preserving an old car and enjoying it. :)

Mine gets plenty of use in the summer months. :) Driving it the winter doesn't hold any positives for me (despite missing it like hell). You can't use the power because the roads are a greasy filthy mess, the underside will be being eaten away by all the salt and the paint chipped to hell by all the grit.
