  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Trip to Lee Dent yesterday to get a few jobs done so a replacement low mileage uk manual box fitted, new disks and pads up front and an oil change.

Also lee replaced a knackered ac belt tensioner pulley that was squealing.

Totally unplanned was lee ripping out my cats an replacing the std downpipes with japspeed divorced items and decat pipes and 2 new O2 sensors.

Car now purrs like a kitten again so have to thank lee for his stirling work once again and Coopd for the convoy down and nice to see Chris bedzedman picking his shortie up like a giddy kid. Great day great banter top mechanic.

Made it shiny!

Might go for a short hoon later...I really don't drive it enough anymore.

Also changed the air filter and cabin filter on the new daily; the 2007 Mazda 6 S pictured behind the Z. Top spec (bar MPS) with about 150PS and we're the second owners  Fun story - the missus was scared to drive it, being larger and more powerful than an Almera, so I took the chance to pick her up from work the other day. Parked right out front in full view, jumped in the passenger seat and cracked open a beer. She was pissed but it worked

Was a great day indeed! Like Ian said I convoyed down for a natter mainly. Got my inner track rod end changed whilst there and Lee gave it a quick once over. Have to thank Callum also for changing a few old bolts for new shiny ones in the engine bay!

Thanks again chaps:)

Decided I'm not spending the day with the witch, do meeting up for a spot of lunch with a fellow Z owner.. If anyone fancies joining us, we'll be at the Swan in Grove road, kimbleswick, Buckinghamshire.. HP17

Feel free to drop by if you're in the area..

Well, timed it spot on.. Had a nice roast with Kamil. Not a spot of rain til half way home..

Definitely a nice little country pub for a small Z gathering, so if anyone's interested in a meeting over the summer months, let me know and I can arrange something with the landlord.

Picked up my freshly refurbed old skool rims. More additions to my loft collection ae74356fb34f564529571d90a62560bc.jpg8a9cc199f3b82e30fcdae61dd89d20b8.jpg

You and that loft.

You and that loft. [emoji38]

I know. It gets me down at times. Car looks the same as the day I bought it. Can't put rims on until paint job, then there's the big brakes to fit same time. Still to fit the Racelogic and exhaust front end too, along with the other bits n bobs like throttle body covers which can't go on until the engine bay gets tidied up and tuned, turbos refurbed/upgraded ....daughter starting uni put the proverbial spanner in the works. At least I can look forward to getting the full Mondo later on in the year [emoji6].

Il text you some measurements at some point as I'm nearly at the fitting stage at the back, it's tight in the wheel...

Collected re-trimmed centre armrest (using OEM leather). Together with replacement door armrests that completes

interior leather refurbishment.

D'oh - pity I missed this... I'm about 10 minutes from there and I was using my Zed all weekend....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I went for a drive and found a loud whine from the rear..... think I may have a wheel bearing needing replacement....:crying:

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Shame, but it was all a little last minute Richard lol..

Fairly sure a few of us can gather there or somewhere nearby sometime next month..

Let me know if you're up for it..

What did I do today? LOTS!

Received my new 17mm AF wheel nuts in the post, and immediately woke my mate up so I could go and collect the wheels I bought last week. (the wheel hole is too small for the socket for the 21mm nuts I had before)

They're not perfect, but the money helped a mate out and they're infinitely better than the unbalanced and very white Momo 5 spokes that it came with.

Plus the Bridgestones on the front wheels are a massive improvement on the mismatched Chinesium Ditchfinder Pro's on the old wheels!

Then shot over to a different mate and got the old girl up on his two post as I've not seen the underside after buying it two months ago..... clean bill of health. Some minor crispiness on the pinch welds, but nothing that makes me weep! Happy days!

Then, over to my local scrappers after a quick bite of lunch to see if I could scrounge some wiring to repair the right hand indicator bulb holder which had ceased to transmit electrons. Ended up discovering that facelift K11 Micra indicator bulb holders have the same connector and the same bayonet design, and although they don't have the wire tail of the original, the chassis loom stretches to connect, so flashing recommenced!

Also fitted my snazzy chrome interior door handles because why not? Easy to do, and I've got two more knocking about.

That little lot, combined with the door mirror I swapped out, is making it really start coming together.

The old mirror was held together with wood screws!

New one has power fold... Decadent.

Now to scrape the cash together to completely renew every single suspension bush, and throw some proper coilies on as the lowering springs just aren't cutting the mustard.

Nice bit of work there :thumbup1: nice little shortie also:yes:

Cheers!

She's been around the block a bit, with at least three forum users having had her before, and 12 UK owners on the V5 (not to mention owners when it was in Japan), but one day I hope to have her pretty. Or fast.

Glad this cars getting the attention it deserves.

Me too - looking good mate!!

As for what I did.....

....Not a lot today, as I was at work...! However yesterday, I put my Zed back in the garage after taking it out on Good Friday. Started with a wash, then on Easter Saturday, a little wipe down with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer - followed by a week of daily use. So before the Sunday night rain set in, I made the effort to swap the cars around.... And popped my Zed back inside until the next outing beckons:biggrin:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Taxed my slicktop and went for a first drive in 2017. Only went down the bypass and back to bed in my new front EBC Blue stuff pads and new front grooved and dimpled discs.

I will put a few miles on it this week before heading to Silverstone on Sunday for the first track action of my year.

Started her up and rolled her out of the garage for the first time this year! Good to be back in the Z ?a9994e89a1161ffff0783679955b0364.jpg
