  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Today I did many things. I insured and taxed it, got it out of the barn, drove it to the Boosted meet nr Aylesbury with some chums.... and drove the last couple of miles back with the clutch pedal on the floor.

Turns out it was right on the limit with regards to fluid level, and just sucked one great lump of air in and stayed that way.

So, first ever day of full legit Zed driving was a delicate rev matching game followed by begging, borrowing and stealing a jack, wood and some brake fluid for a quick top up and bleed.

Quite why there's a bleedy thing waaaay out on the inner wing I don't know..

Lesson learned.

Yeah bleeding nipple by the powersteering pot and also one on the slave cylinder. All better now?

Oh aye, worked fine for the 10 miles from there back home, reservoir still full. The real test will be this week's commute but hey ho. That's what breakdown cover and a bus pass is for eh?

Even got the indicators to work again. Hazard switch stuck half-way between on and off, who'd've thunk it?

Punning. Ditch the stock line and use a single long braided line from the master to slave, so much better. Available from ZCentre (you want the long one). The fluid is probably leaking through the master into the cabin, check under the dash for dampness where it goes through the firewall. Rebuild kits are cheap.

Swapped my Auto balance bar for a Manual bar. Not sure why I bothered as the clutch master is leaking and I can't find a way to repair it....

Can anyone remind me who it is that built the 10" sub box in the boot floor? I'm thinking andrewg, but can't remember.. I'm looking for the templates he had available as I'd like to build one myself..

Ah, I did notice some sogginess down there, but I assumed it was the targa leak. Will have to have another poke.

Thanks!

I prefer the bottom ones tom but like Si says the ones you have are nice id polish the rims up and get the ctrs painted shadow chrome.

I'll get the rotas fitted, if I like them I'll keep them on if not they can go on the slicktop

But well worth the effort

hmm wife did'nt think so when i went in the house

Got a spare couple of hours so off for a drive to nowhere with the targas off. What a way to travel eh?

Also ignored the clutch master and decided to dig under the front panel, see what was there.

Turns out there's a very leaky airbox, missing a few screws, full of water and mud.

New filters added to list of carp to order...

C'est la vie. ..

Just dropped mine off at the garage to get a new Cat 1 alarm fitted

Just picked her back up from the alarm fitters... Jeez it's loud!

What did you go for?

Its brand is Meta. Seems good to me... They've added microwave sensors as well so I can have the roof off
