  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

A scab on the T top.

That will need cutting out - they rust from the inside out.

I agree - found out the hard way, after the first repair bubbled in a few weeks....

.....Ended up buying a replacement from Baz:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Reinstated rear wiper and spoiler. Looks much better

That looks better. Quite like the wheels to, simple but effect.

Hey anyone know if we'll be hitting japfest at Donnington this year? It's moved venue and its now in july/June I think.. So will the club be interested in a stand? There's 2 night camping and evening entertainment available on one of the nights apparently so it looks to be a better event than the Silverstone event.. Any takers?

Least it's not covered in salt!

Well, mine has been in daily use since the day she came home with me  salt or no salt, she only park's up for snow and repairs..

Big overhaul planned this year.. Skirts and bumpers all coming off for cleaning and underseal in those awkward covered places.. Coilovers and adjustable arms all round and those nasty trims being replaced too.. There's a few more jobs on the back burner atm too but one thing at a time huh..

Before you know it mate you'll be running 500bhp

Lol, I very much doubt that!

I'm really not looking for any more power or speed, my little lady is plenty enough for me. If anything I may look to have the engine rebuilt at some point and add some strengthening mods but purely to protect the engine for the future.

I'm quite happy with the performance from the engine as it was intended to be. I had the days of power and speed from the bikes I used to own and the rover v8 I spent thousands modifying.

I am looking to improve the handling and to protect the body and chassis but that's about it.

She looks good enough for me, goes well enough and I'd like to keep her for future generations to admire.

I went through my local McDonald's on my way home from work on Monday night and was greeted at the window by a guy of about 20 years old holding my meal in its paper bag.

His first words were "that car is rude" to which my response was "thanks, not bad for a car that's older than you huh?"

The suprise on his face said it all.. :biggrin"

The biggest suprise at his comment was the fact that he'd served a guy in an audi R8 before me and not looked twice at it lol.

Such a nice feeling to see someone of the modern generation appreciating something I spent my youth dreaming of owning.

N/A diff, huge turbos, nitrous and all those things don't attract me anymore, maybe I'm just getting old? But I have a smile on my face just walking to the car, a grip when I start it and a little bit of love juice is always present after planting my foot down on rare occasions...

She's got all the performance I need.. Just need to put the parts in place to support the handling and she's my perfect lady..

Just spent a few hours removing the front bumper. It's now loose at the sides, center and bottom, but feels like it's still attached around the headlights. Not sure if I missed something as the guides I referenced are for the early style bumper, and it's too dark now to check.

I have removed the following bolts/studs:

8 from arch liners

8 from underside of bumper

4 from above turn signals

4 from roughly half way between the arch liners and turn signals

Also freed the brackets underneath the nose panel.

Still can't find what's holding it on...

Removed the bolts in front of and between the headlights too but I don't think that was necessary.

Theres a thin bar with threads on that the bumper hooks onto mate, I can't really remember how we took mine off, it happened that quickly as it was on a lift

Did you see this Jay

Yep followed that, as I expected it was just a difference in the bumpers. Three bolts behind my reg plate which I thought just secured the grill were actually attached to brackets.

Think I'll remove the front undertray too as the car is still too low to get into the garage.

Well, we all had a great day at the ace Cafe meeting this morning.. Well worth the loss of sleep

Lots of chatting, met a few new faces and put some faces to the names too.. I lead the convoy from Toddington and managed to not get anyone lost or killed too..

Bedzee enjoyed it so much that he decided to turn around halfway on the journey home and go back again lol..

Anyway, another successful and enjoyable outing with the crazy zedders!

Here's a few photo's..

It was a good turn out, particularly when you consider it didn't stop snowing all day..

My chest thermometers were saying below freezing

I can't take the credit for the day though as I had nothing to do with organising it. Ali advertised the event well on Facebook and I have to say thanks to Chris bedzee for bringing the meeting to my attention as I wasn't aware until he asked if I was going..

It was a good day thanks to the dedication of those that were able to brave the weather and make it.. Great to see so many zeds and those that couldn't bring the zeds aswell that came anyway..

Big thanks to you all for making it a great day..

Looking forward to the season ahead and some more great events..
