  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I had ordered a set of these along with Testpipes and other bits from CZP Graham, (see "Richie's Blue Thunder Build thread"). Andy asked if i could order a second set for him if he Paypal'd me the price of them, which I did:thumbup:.

Bugger missed out there:(

Finally got mine back after 11 weeks, she's running lovely and took her for a nice run and several more tomorrow, love how this car drives even after the initial oil leak problem I'm glad I went for the Z and not another GTO

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

And I wrapped the boot lid with a carbon effect film that flips from the same colour as the car to a gold colour...... This is to cover the boot and protect the old paint till she is taken for full respray.....

I also finished stripping and painting every single component on the suspension, so all ready to rebuild her tomorrow.....

Just need to strip N/S brake discs and callipers again and paint the discs black where the pads don't make contact and the callipers Carbon Grey.......

So should be ready for bleeding the brake system through in next few days......

Impressive work there Russ.

It's a shame I won't get to meet you at Coventry.

Good luck with the re build mate.

Got a few jobs done on the Z tonight ahead of Coventry and as it was a nice sunset thought I'd take a quick picture :)

Looks great that Baz!

I got the Rear Eccentric bolt that 'Stephen' sent me cleaned up and it came up very well........ Thank you Stephen for saving me bacon....

Good old Apple cider vinegar, emmersed for 3 - 4 days with daily agitation, the removed and brass wire brush on drill to remove any rust and pitting that vinegar didn't shift....

A Grubby bolt from my grubby hand to a clean bolt in your clean hand. Haha. That thing you PM'd me about, it's possibly closer to you than me. Cheers anyway.

Picked up my wheel from Mondo today at Coventry! Over the moon with it and can't wait to fit it.

Seriously, is that leather a good match for the centre pad or what?!!

Yeah I'd say it was! Very good, both tone and finish. Never going to get it spot-on as the materials are different, but it's damn close and better than Nissan's effort!

The bolded part is the important thing ;)

Well productive day today......All suspension now refitted!!!

Brake discs all painted on venting and bell.... a nice satin black VHT.......

Brake callipers are now in Carbon Foliatec and drying for the next 24 hours.....

Goodridge hoses are all fitted and awaiting callipers and discs to be fitted....

Just need to fit the handbrake cables when I get some and I am ready to fire her up and see how the transmission goes..... or not??

Hopefully MOT by the end of the week??

Pictures to come tomorrow PM after I get home from work and get on with the next stage.....

Looks nice, did you get thinker leather or padding? Surprise you 3 spoke guys don't get the thumb rest/grips. Is that standard leather or Napa leather?

Going to let leatherwheels cover mine with the thicker padding in nappa leather with the sides perforated.

I'm getting Simon (Mondo) to do mine with the thumbgrips and perforated sides bud:thumbup:

Inspired by yesterday, I did a bit of light detailing (including clay bar on the wings - getting there). Then went for a drive.
