  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

have you cut that out of a old kitchen chopping board ? looks like it.

No mate, it's end grain balsa wood.. It's used a lot in grp boat building.. They cut the end off of 2x2 balsa and glue it together in squares like a chequer board. Very light but very hard too.

It's been coated in ultra fine glassfibre cloth and coated in crystal clear resin.. I know what you mean about it though, it looks like a butchers chopping block lol.

You pair of plonkers.. I'm not leaving them like that lol..

Got to glass fibre them again yet.. Theres a lot more going in to these yet, that's just the stiffening coat to seal the wood from the top layers.

I'm getting bored and anxious without my Z here so I'm finding things to occupy my time.

I took the wipers off the scrapper today and went to town on them..

Not done anything with the z the last few weeks. But I did get married and spend 10 days in Cyprus with the wife. Amazing few weeks. Now I can slowly crack on with the build

Hey I have carbon fiber Hydrodipped wiper arms fronts only and other RHD interior bits I'm selling soon!!!

Indeed they do .

I ordered the oem steering wheel emblem yesterday for my 95' Z since the car is totally black inside besides the carbon fiber pieces. Thanks for the insight!

I'm thinking of gold carbon dipping these aswell but trying not to go over the top with it..

I planned on doing the black pillar between the door glass and the door shut in gold with the skulls, but i decided that would be too much.. I may do the roof and windscreen trim in red with gold carbon but I'm still undecided on what to do about that too..

Once she comes back from doctor dent, I'll make my mind up on wether to leave her as is or add a few more touches here and there.. I don't want to end up turning her from classy to tacky..

Once I've changed the rear interior quarters for the alcantara and got shot of the tweed seats for leather, I think I'm about done with putting my mark on her.. I think she looks sweet enough now.

Finally put the new brembo brake pads in the N/S front and rear callipers and fitted my nice new shim kits. I polished the metal pins and calliper spring plates while I was cleaning it all up.

I have also fitted Goodridge speed bleeders to the callipers to help when I fill the brake system with some new fluid.....

All painted and ready for me to start the O/S rebuild.....

a few pics quickly snapped tonight....

I think I need some new grooved brake discs to go with all this work now........ lol

Nicely done Russ.

Cheers Stephen.... spent days getting every single bolt cleaned up, let alone anything else.... lol

Cleaned them with degreaser, then 4 days soaking in apple cider vinegar with daily agitation, then fine brass brush by hand, followed by brass drill attachment and finally soaked in wd40 for a day.....

Now all of them have come up as close to new as I could wish for. I can't believe how well they turned out...

I've cleaned the inner wing plastic lining and sprayed with satin black, I replaced all the 8mm plastic clips with brand new ones, fitted the new Carbon coloured Goodridge braided lines, new brake line clips, painted all suspension parts in satin black.

I need to get my finger out to get to Beaulieu...... lol

Couple of bits that will need looking at but I'm still very pleased with it  got worried for a second when I couldn't see the power steering thing under the bonnet, but then I remembered it's got the electric hicas so I suppose it's that!

Does look clean! Very nice! I hope the first thing you do is replace those appalling wheels though!

Oh god yes I won't be able to jack it up quick enough! :hammer:

Interested to find out what the suspension is as it looks lowered to me, auction sheet just said "possibly lowered"
