  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Hi Trev, what size / model battery did you get??

Thanks..

Richie

Im not sure if it helps at all, but I got one of these when I was looking. I think it was a little cheaper at the time though.

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

You're an addict dave! There's no saving you now is there! Lol..

I looked at the advert for that too, I've been looking for a donor car to strip. Spent so much recently though that I can't afford it at the mo.

Lol, zed number 8  I had originally thought about using it for the parts needed for my UK zed but after seeing how good the shell is I'm in second thoughts.

Still have no idea where I'm going to put it though as my other half's old car is still on my drive waiting to be sold, my BMW is on my neighbours drive, other half's newest car is on the road and my UK zed is on my parents drive...... I'm officially out of space!!

Annnnnnd I'm home! :)

I left my house at 6am yesterday morning headed straight for PowerZed in Bristol to get my car serviced and a general health check of the engine and car. Jimmer is a top bloke, had a good laugh and learnt lots of things about my car. After a few hours with Jim, we were all done and I was back on the road heading for Turbonoz in Nottingham to have my car custom mapped by Noel. Noel then spent most of the night and today tweeking here and there and making my car the best it can be in its current state with its current mods. The end result is a whopping 427bhp with 444lbs/ft of Torque!!! Noel you are a mapping genius! The car is totally transformed. That was the best 200 miles home I've ever driven. :thumbup1:

Thank you both very much, was 36 hours and 500 miles well spent :)

Not bad for a 26 year old car ;)

Nice, very linear power delivery by the looks of it to. What psi did you end up pushing through those auto turbos for that? Still at factory fuel pressure?

Thanks mate :) That was running at 1.2 bar. Think it's around 17psi but would have to check to be certain. Noel did say I MAY have larger injectors in there, but couldn't say for sure. Also my car ran better on boost with the O2 sensors connected. Apparently that's frequently not the case and noel disconnects them, then maps in open loop.

Spent all evening at AndrewG's modifying my S2 door cards to accept S1 belts! Finally I can complete the interior!

Out of interest, what was it making before, stock?

Not much. Don't have a reading but timing was off, car was running very very rich, was mapped incorrectly... it felt awful to be honest and would not boost past 6psi

Is that for a RHD car Howard?

Just checked JP, and no at the moment they are only for L/h drive cars. Thanks for mentioning it, saved me few ££:thumbup1:

Just out of curiosity why does noel disconnect the O2 sensors for when mapping, nissan put the O2 sensors on for a reason surely?

Well I've got a couple of spaces available if you want to park a zed round here? I won't charge you rent, just borrow a bit every now and again.. Lol

We could split the car between all the members Dave?

I will take the N/S front wing, gearbox, pedals, etc and look after them very carefully for you...... ???

NemesizX will look after all the parts he needs very carefully.........??

Let us know if we can help you out storing it piece by piece.........:shifty:

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

today i spend obscene amounts of cash ordering new parts for the car :thumbup1:

Removed my new blue windscreen myself from my old zed

I've never seen the blue illustrated so well! Mine looks more like green compared to that.

Thanks for the kind (I think ) offer from you and Paul (nemesizx) but I've decided to get some concrete slabs down on my front lawn and stick it there for the moment until I decide what to do with it.Still unsure weather I should break it for the parts my UK zed needs, stick the needed parts it needs in from my UK zed or get an engine for it and get it running so I have a zed while the other zed is slowly sorted.

Decisions, decisions, decisions

Finally made a start on my winter works....only 3 weeks late and I head back to work on Monday.

Exhaust off, drive shaft off, rear calipers off, rear struts out.

Then ran out of time.

Found a seized piston on one caliper which explains some of the poor braking. Also the handbrake material on one has started to brake down and running around the inside of the disc. Explains the light whine I get sometimes.

Suspension heading back to work with me to get sorted so at least some progress will be made.

No further Andrew.

I'll probably get the 10mm spacers machined whilst I'm at work and run with them for a while to see how it goes.
