  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Other than the MOT, I fitted this too!

Did you buy that cut out or did someone make it for you?

Passed MOT with no advisories!

Respect for driving from Chorley to oldham to the garage that mot's my cars. Andy and the guys at Trentmill Garage are a great set of lads.

Nice little drive out...lovely weather today as well! Jess came with me... Don't think she was too impressed with their toilet though.... It looked like something out of the film trainspotting!!

Got excited when the postman knocked on the door! He only had a package for the wife :mad2:

Hopefully tomorrow my new leds for the dash and pods will arrive.. Anyway, to stop myself feeling sad, I went and ordered these bad boys for the doors as my original right door speaker is intermittently coming on and off!

Got these in gold :walkman:

Fitted my new battery......

......I had a chat with the guys at Euro Car Parts regarding their listing; and the terminals being the wrong way round. They did some investigating and came up with an Exide jobbie, same size and spec as the one they offered yesterday, but with the correct set-up. £68 with a 4 year guarantee - that'll do nicely!

I then had to re-program all the settings on my stereo/NAV unit.... Damn you Kenwood, can't you come up with something to save my pre-sets, EQ settings and NAV preferences....

When I buy batteries now, I photocopy the receipt. Been caught twice with faded receipts [emoji106]

Sent from my VG30DETT

Not yet mate, well the new bumper is fitted now but it always seems to be dark when I get home after work! And I don't do boring photos so maybe this weekend I'll get out and take some just for you :)

OK Barry!! It's the weekend!!! Where's my pics!!!:tt2:

Fitted my dashcam. It's concealed behind the rear view mirror as that's about the only good place on such a big windscreen. Just need to figure out a way to tidy the cable now.

Haven't removed the boot lock yet as it's raining as usual...

Got my tyres delivered today, going to kill off my old tyres at brands Hatch in February, then put these on ready for japfest, DSC_0073_zpsc9lif9s7.jpg

If those slicks are high performance, how come they are rated E and F? F for fuel efficiency and E for grip in wet i guess?

Because they are slicks lol, they are designed to get alot of dry grip, it's in smaller writing but the temp rating is A, and dry grip AA, already been warned to be careful in the rain,

The more contact with the road (alot for semi slicks) the more rolling resistance/ friction so worse on fuel, likewise large contact area, can't displace water well, so poor wet grip

Cod they are crap in the wet and grippy tyres = resistance which = higher fuel consumption. Those labels are for numpties to decide what tyres they want to pay for at quickfit. Pretty irrelevant in this scenario.

Received the new dash leds today, so decided to have a go at fitting.. Managed to do the right pod, started on the left only to find that the bulbs in the heater control pod are bigger than the right pod? Even the ones in the right pod seemed to be slightly larger than those I bought but hey, I soldiered on.

Started scratching my head when I went to remove the dashboard section, so decided it best to wait until I know what I'm doing.. Here's what I managed to change today though... DSC_0067.jpg

Did you soldier on or solder on

Fortunately no solder required.. Couple of band aids for theplastic cuts on my fingers.. It's a shame the japs didn't include about an inch more wire on the pod plugs cos they are seriously a pita to get off!

Just came out of the shed after an attempt to carbon wrap one of the venom lights. Just want to physically see one to make my mind up wether to go carbon or stay black gloss.

Here's the result, a few small crinkles but good enough to get an idea. Opinions welcomed.. DSC_0069.jpg

Thoughts? 99 spec lol

If your centre panel is still stock then gloss black would look better IMO, but if you wrap the centre also it would look good

Nah your ok mate, I don't like to go with crowd. I like to stay unique. I found so many people compliment me on the way my car looks because of the fact it's different to any other.. So nostrils will keep her nostrils, her venom lights, her flug front end and shortly the veilside rear end.

I'm probably going carbon across the full rear panel.

It's the way I like her and it keeps my car standing apart from the crowd.. Most Z's I see now have 99 spec lights and personally they don't do it for me.

OK, been a busy zedder today!

Got up after 5 hours sleep and started on nostrils..

I stripped the dashboard out and fitted the L.E.D upgraded bulbs to the dash.

I decided after that to have a check in the boot to make sure the boot was dry and everything was in order. I was very happy with what I found in there! DSC_0074.jpg

Even found a japanese cricket type bug that had obviously found its way in there before she was imported! It was dead of course! I don't know what it is, but i know it isn't British!

I cleaned the interior including the boot.

Then washed her, gave her a Maguires gold pre wax Polish, then a good coat of Maguires gold class carnauba wax.. She looks a treat..

Had to post again as reached the photo limit!? Lol..

Do the hood scoops go somewhere or are they glued onto the bonnet?

Must be good fuse box coolers

Looking really good, especially the new wheels. The bonnet nostrils do look rather strange though.

The scoops are just stick ons. They were on the car when I bought it and I left them there as they're different..

I had thought about having a new set put on and make them functional but it wouldn't be worth cutting the bonnet.. I must add though, they're nowhere near the fuse box..
