  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Just a quick Q... Having some clutch issues I think.. Anyone here got good knowledge of these clutches?

I've had a few times that I've gone to press the clutch down and it's hard. Softens up again quickly but sometimes feels hard to press down. I drove it at about 45mph in 5th for about a mile and the clutch again felt hard to press.

When I recently had the car on the four post ramps, I did notice a small patch of oily substance around the small square hole between the gearbox and Bell housing.

Although I don't seem to be losing fluid.

It's baffling me more as the clutch was only replaced 2500 miles ago so I'm positive is not just normal wear.

Was told it may be losing pressure through the slave cylinder?

I'd have thought that would include a loss of fluid though right? Not sure what to check really as I'm unsure if the car has internal or external slave cylinder? Any help would be greatfully received..

 cheers..

TT? could be the clutch booster, losing vacuum or hose to the booster issue.

A rare old sight nowadays that OEM airbox [emoji106]

The price and availability are grand though!

OK groover, yes it's a tt. So where might I find this interesting boostery type thingymajig? I didn't even know it existed..

Japspeed back boxes fitted. Love the sound! Not sure if I will fit the middle section though, I leave quite early in the morning

No heat shields on it and it's quite close to the fuel tank...should I be worried?

I wouldn't have thought so matey, there's no heat shields on any aftermarket exhaust and there's plenty of people running them...

Sound clip with and without the centre section ???

I think he means the heat shield under the fuel tank Rich...a lot of heat can be got from a zorst and ive always re-furbed and fitted my heat shields back on,not an ideal situation to be putting heat into the fuel..

how do I correct this picture rotation thing?

Swapped my tatty buckled aftermarket wheels the car came with for some 18" staggered 350z wheels:hyper:

The fuel tank heat shield is on, but it doesn't cover the sides at level with the back boxes. The OEM back boxes have a heat shield but it's sort of moulded on.

It will be fine at the sides Jay. All of us with non oem back boxes dont have heat shields there mate.

Probably wouldn't affect the note so much as the volume.

I picked up my new transmission gasket from Mike at MJP..... Drilled out the snapped bolts and rethreaded the holes....

I cleaned and sprayed the transmission sump in black metallic pearl paint... as I only had this in the garage.... lol

Looks pretty anyway....

Tomorrow is refit new gasket and sump and refill with fluid..... then testing time.....

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Spent Sunday afternoon fitting the new gold pinstripe to the Z..

Now she's all ready for the wheels when they arrive on Wednesday! Gonna look stunning!!! Also started to plastic coat and paint the door heater plastic trims and the inner door handle plastics in the body colour.. Should look nice, but having a pig job getting the paint to bond to this plastic! More rubbing down and repainting to be done before the lacquer goes on..

Fitted EBC grooved rear discs and red pads tonight, then fitted some new spark plugs and an oil and filter change, going to begin cleaning for JAE tomorrow.
