  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Russ I've a good condition Torque converter that you can have for nothing (cover postage) if it helps you out?? I scrapped the auto box a couple of years ago as no one wanted it (only had 50k on it) and it had been lying in the garden since 2009!!

I will let you know tomorrow if I need it..... thank you for that Richie..... much appreciated.......

Russ

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

I was going to say russ, I had an old sd1 rover that kept doing that, it turned out to be a blocked strainer.

To look at it was fine but up the tube was clogged with all sorts of crud. Check the strainer. It could also be the transmission cooler on the radiator.

It's definitely a problem with the box struggling to supply fluid to the converter.

Today was three stage mcguires deep Polish and wax.. Got right through to stage 3, the waxing.. Then the heavens opened! Very stressed! Grrr!!

Saturday, I fitted a new air filter and gave it another coat of "Beading Marvellous" wax before the rain set in....

.....Yesterday nothing; and so far today nothing. Although as the weather is crap, I might just dismantle the new driver's side targa I bought from Baz (last year!!!) and replace the glass panel - it still has the number plate of the donor car etched into it. I've been meaning to do it for some time...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Wow seems like so long ago!

LOL - I think it was ages ago mate!! I dismantled my old one and kept the glass with the intention of doing just that..... But since the new targa fits perfectly and does not leak, I've left it well alone....!!

Well today I've heeded the advice I was giving to Russ and am taking a break from the Z, it hadn't been started at the garage but was going for the engine bay paint job and rust proofing on Wednesday. I've cancelled all work as I'm putting too much financial pressure on myself and family. The wife's back is pretty serious as we've had MRI's and she's been put forward from October to this Wednesday to see a specialist. The MRI was €200 and the specialist is €200, combined with the €2000 just spent on the pickup I'm stretched to the limits. The wife isn't getting paid from work so our monthly income is down by €2k:thumbdown:. Just one of those things I suppose, I will be buying the remaining parts I've got on hold with people over the coming months as I won't be forking out for the paint and engine work and I can revisit this project when things get better:yes: hopefully it's sooner rather than later:thumbup1:

At the end of the day it's a car, a toy car at that for most of us. There's no race against anybody but your own patience. Take it easy, take the time to think, evaluate and tinker with low cost/ free things that are simply time consuming. You will get a better end project taking your time than going hell for leather anyway.

Did this yesterday! Went to Vig's (sumshiftyguy) wedding yesterday! Damn awesome it was too!

Disappointing Richie, I was looking forward to seeing it done too but I'm sure you've made the right decision. She'll get there some day!

I bet the bride was impressed when you guys disappeared outside for a willy waving photo shoot.

Thanks guys, as said family first, I've all the time in the world to sort out the Z. Any spare cash is going towards a few choice bits which can go on when I manage to scrape up the funds to do the car, will hopefully still be this year but will be going towards having her ready for summer 2016.

I wouldn't mind waving my willy around those cars!!!:lol:

Just take your time on the Z mate there is no rush and lets hope your wife gets her back sorted soon. Health is more important than any car.:clover:

Impressive line up Si!

Is that 4 Zds a Lambo, DB9, Porche, Ferrari?

Correct! The Aston Martin was a DBS. Sounded amazing!

Then we had our photos taken with our cars!!

Looking cool Si!

I have a Lambo day at Dunsfold park, Surrey on the 17 Sept!

Hoping for a dry day!

Changed my first fuel filter this evening without too much spillage! In retrospect, I'm thinking I should have pulled the fuel pump fuse with the engine running, rather than pull the fuse then try to start it a few times?

Fantastic pictures and looks like a top day

So who was the policeman after then in picture 7
