  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Decided to take the zed out for a run in the sun after putting her through the wet weather at the Coventry meet.

I don't know if it's just my imagination coupled with adrenalin, but she really does like the warmth and pulls that little bit better.

Pulled up on the drive after about a 10 mile spirited run and took this photo. Vitals looking good me thinks.

Slowly building up the front end. Top tip for headlights if ever you have them out for whatever reason, a thorough clean with APC @ 1:1 dilution and a toothbrush and you get the below! Nothing worse than filthy stained headlight backings in an otherwise clean engine bay. Mine were clean before hand, but got them that bit better as they're quite visible with the bonnet up.

Not really that exciting!

Looks like the re build is going well Si?

Loving the detailing on the headlights, I completely refurbished mine not so long back. (Nightmare)

Lovely work!! They look better than mine!!!!!!!!!

Rebuild is going very well now. Glass guy came and refitted my rear screen and rear quarter windows - did a cracking job. I've just been adding trim to the doors, aligning the bonnet so that it sits completely perfectly and fitting my new roof trims...which is a PAIN IN THE ASS!

Thanks Si! (it's the only part of my car that might be though)

Glad to hear your build is going well, it is the one car I hope to see in the flesh soon as from what I have seen so far, it must be exceptional.

Coventry was my first meet after being a member/owner for nearly 10 years.

I have definitely got the meeting bug now.

Oh God! It appears it has a lot to live up to. It's not perfect by any means and it never will be. I am just trying to make as clean of an example as I possibly can within my means. Ideally I'd want to go concourse, but that takes more dedication that I currently have. It's a solid clean example though and that's all I really want from it. :)

Hope to see you at at Beaulieu!

Sorry, did not mean to add to the pressure of the build.

As for Beaulieu, I have been seriously considering it!

Mind you, I do not know anything about the meet though.

The only thing I may know is it is sometime in August?

It's August the 3rd. If you check National Events section, there's a thread with all the details up. I was waiting until Coventry had finished to do the final push with this and arrange meet up points and convoys.

Please note, bumper only held on with 2 bolts and not aligned, same goes for the nose panel. But I am slowly building it up. By the time I'd finished today, the body was pretty much completed. All the glass is now back in, headlights, built up the bumper and now fitted, same with the nose panel. Spoiler is also back on. Just the interior to refit now, probably be done by tomorrow evening. Had some extremely positive comments by passers-by today. Some very well to do people in the development where I live and a guy in a brand new Range Rover pulled up to tell me how beautiful it looked. I love how these cars still draw a HUGE amount of attention, even from people who could afford to buy 30 of them all at once!

Thanks guys!

Thats the aim Gary. :) I've replaced all the roof trims, scuttle panel, had the wiper arms powdercoated, new windscreen (from last year), new rear screen trim. I really want it to look as new and as clean possible.

What I am most pleased about however, other than the new Lexus pearl white paint is my gunmetal grey moustache and custom indicators/fogs. Sooooo happy with the end result on that! It's something that my front end was REALLY missing!

Nice!! :bow::bow:

Thanks dude! I want to get it looking just right for a road trip I am planning on doing down to the French and Italian rivieras next year...or possibly Corsica.

Something I should have done a LONG time ago; I'm really happy with the new look of my front end. It's totally transformed it!

It looks awesome Si, as much as i've liked your car without the moustache it looked a little lacking something and that looks perfect now and the colour is beautiful. Well done mate! :)

I have always thought that! As with any little modification I do to my car, I think about it for months, if not years before I actually take the plunge! The front end was definitely missing something. I think a final push from JoelyP on the subject made me do it and I am glad I did. I can't stop looking at the front of my car anymore!!!

Thanks for the compliments! :)

Finally driving again after shattering my heel bone back in April mountain biking. Mot had run out so drove it to my local garage, passed with no advisories:biggrin:

Off to spray shop friday to get tailgate glass removed and then damage from my spoiler removal sorted and hopefully get it back in time for Beaulieu.
