  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Finally got chance to drive the car having got it back from Luke at ZCentre  and she's feeling like a very happy machine. Thanks Luke :thumbup1:

With the "foundation work" done last month (cambelt, new rad, oil cooler, coilovers etc.) an experienced eye needed to be cast over it. Wheel bearings and were diff checked, compression test done. So oil and plugs were changed, the "mushroom" filter replaced with a Drift induction kit and the "walt disney productions" exhaust swapped out for a shiny Japspeed cat back. Even treated her to a set of SS brake lines. Finally, the new (to me) wheels went on (cheers Ross :thumbup1:) and I am chuffed to bits with the transformation :cool3:

Made a start on sorting out the wiring I shorted last month.

Weather turned against me, so put her back in the garage where she will.now stay until February.

Today I finally got my hicas eliminator kit fitted... Hurray!!!

What an absolute ar5e of a job removing the ball joints!!!

I haven't completely finished the job yet as I still need to remove all the pipework but that can wait for now.

Also just need to get the tracking done tomorrow to stop my tyres being ruined.

May I ask why you remove the hicas? Heard a few people do it why though? Has it some benefit for handling?

I removed it because I preferred the way my old n/a handled ( plus my ball joints were shot and the eliminator kit was roughly the same cost as replacements).

I have found that the steering with hicas is a little bit vague, but there are people who like it (each to there own).

After putting new spark plugs in (NGK Iridium ) I got a missfire on the second day of driving so pulled them out and put new NGK 11c in but still missfiring,Checked the ecu and got a code 34 (det possible harness fault) Unpluged the harness plug it looked clean and ok to me so put it back and did another ecu check and it read code 55 so all ok. Drove the zed today up and down the road and all seams fine it is boosting hard in all gears so happy so far. Just worried why it started to missfire in the first place.

Gary I run iridium ix in all the z's with no issues at all really stout plug

Prehaps it was dust in plug as daft as it sounds

I am pretty sure the plugs where not at fault also as the car ran great on the first day but I do remember when I moved the balance bar back to fit the rear plugs I knocked the det plug of its holder (plus the one beside it) so hoping its just the det plug that was at fault.

Gaz a dett sensor problem will not give you a misfire mate...a misfire will be related to a injector or coil pack plug 9 times out of 10

A bit of cleaning and rejigging required in the loom it sounds like to me.

Well cars being stripped ready for gearbox coming of to access crank oil seal, while she was on the ramp noticed a lot of rust on the front running gear so started to de- rust ready for painting and some more under seal, also noticed how low the rear tyres are, they haven't been on long so shows with nearly 500 bhp running through them they don't last long :-( so got some nice sticky Pirelli p6000's:-)

Did you have pzeros before? There grippy but so damn soft!

No mate had continental's on it,but they were very good tyres when new, only stepped out when pushed the power up:-)

What are you running bhp and tyre size?

Running 467bhp, 502 ft lbs of torque after Noel finished his magic:-) tyres are 245 front 265 35 rear, should be wider but need the arches rolling more as they catch when the car is loaded with weight after being lowered:-(
