Hi. I'm new to the forum, but doing a full restoration of a 93 Z32. Which had had some front end damage, where someone in a pick up smacked into it with bull bars. Off side head light was smashed. Headlight mounting plate was bent, off side wing bent and front bumper smashed. All that has been fixed, except the nuts and bolts that fix the bumper to the front wings. Does anyone know the size and thread pitch of these? I did post in the general section by mistake, so posting a new thread here in case anyone missed it Thanks in advance, Ash

Please can anyone confirm the size of piping I need for the two hard pipes that supply fluid to the steering rack? I like to believe it's 3/16 but to me it seems bigger. Thanks

hi guys just changed my short shifter for a gem shifter, however the short shifter had a different lower bush it was on pin bearings with a metal collar inside, this meant the sleeve was slightly smaller than the poem sleeve. just need to double check is this the right sleeve? https://conceptzperformance.com/nissan-infiniti-nissan-oem-300zx-collar-shifter-bushing-z32-34556-30p10_p_9864.php

So I recently purchased my first Z. She's a 1990 Auto TT. The other day I noticed some smoke coming from the back of the engine bay, next to the gearbox fluid dipstick. I'm assuming that there is oil leaking from somewhere and is dripping onto the exhaust however I'm not 100%. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before or knows what the issue might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm very new to the Z's. Thanks.

A little while ago I purchased a low milage Idle control valve, as I suspected mine had seen better days. At first glance everything looked okay. It wasn't until I compared them side by side that I noticed some subtle differences. My question is, although they are different, can I fit the newer one without any issues? The later one is the one that looks fairly clean as opposed to the grubby one I have just removed. Unfortunately, only the newer of the 2 valves have any part numbers on it. Pictures below....

Hi guys, thought I had sorted this issues out but it seems to have gotten worse this week. When I kick down and it revs hard and I then slow down the accelerator pedal is stiff and she revs higher when idling. When I blip the throttle she revs back to normal. I adjusted the throttle cable because it was too tight and this seemed to have fixed the issue previously but its back...unless the throttle cable has a tendency to become tighter for some reason leaving the throttle open a touch when at idle. The strangest part, for a new to auto owner, is that when in drive or gear it will rev to about 1100 but when I put her into N or P it revs to 3000 until I blip the thrott…

I am trying to replace my broken AC Condenser and unless I import from the US... the only option for new appears to be from Nissan UK at £585 (8 week wait)....so I am hoping to pick up one from a breaker and then see if I can get it repaired/re-cored at a local radiator specialists.....if that can't be done for a reasonable cost... I will have to go down the import route. The reason I am opting to find one from a breaker instead of taking mine out is that it requires a lot of dismantling...and I don't really want to take my car to bits without knowing just how long it would have to stay like that  So....the part number for my car (1991 TT manual) is 92…

Hello everyone. So I wondered what you guys are running in terms of rear suspension set ups? As I have upper camber arms, and although given me quite a bit more camber than stock, I'm limited and my rear set up isn't level regardless of how 3 attempts to adjust the camber arms to be equal. Before I got to a garage and have the set up properly aligned on a hunter machine, I wanted to make sure I have everything I need in place to get the set up just as I want it. Poor screen grab shot of my set up for now. Thanx in advance. Mex

Hi everyone, my '91 TT is reading error code 21 (ignition sensor circuit) or the PTU.. I'm sure this is quite a common problem experienced by lots of users and I apologise if there's threads I've missed. I understand pre '92 models had an older version PTU which was prone to failing and was later replaced for a more reliable unit. My question is: is it a simple case of buying the newer replacement unit? I'm assuming I will need an adaptor harness also? Is there anything else I'm missing? Thank you in advance. Jay

Hey all, Having a nightmare trying to find insurance for my 300. Got a quote a few months back of £385 on a comparison site when I was 23 years old on a 0 NCB policy as it's a 2nd car. Now I'm 24, it's gone up to £490 for the cheapest one, but that's excluding my boost controller and turbo timer as they don't have a mod category for those. Other comparison sites I'm getting over a grand. Lancaster won't insure me because I'm not >25, same with Footman James, Performance direct want £1687 with no mods declared, no quote with mods declared. Admiral won't insure me with any mods (even the custom cooling fan). Phoned up Adrial Flux but got bored after being on ho…

So after speaking with a couple of garages today, its seems like they will only align the car to either the FSM details, or if I give specific data they will use this info. I was hoping that they would offer some input or advice given that my car is lowered, but they only want to use set data, so does the fact that the car is lowered, negate the factory setup? (Seen the thread below with the pages from AndrewG regarding the FSM specs.) https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?181276-rear-wheel-tracking&highlight=wheel+alignment

after finally finishing all of the "dirty" jobs on the underside of get car, I am at last look at getting the parts /wiring together for the amp and a JL sub that I have had for years into the car. I have had a look at the various kits from Maplins and Car Audio Security, and even read articles from Crutchfield.com about working what gauge to run from the battery to the amp and sub. But to be honest I'm more confused now. can anyone point me in the right direction of cable size or even better a complete kit? The Amp is 300w http://genesis-ice.com/uk-en/products/view.php?id=12 Which will be mounted in the boot, the sub is a JL 10W6 http://www.z1-highend.de/Web…

It's been a long day and I'm tired and no doubt being stupid. Just been doing my pre MOT checks and found my rear number plate lights aren't working. Now it has occurred to me that I didn't reconnect them when I put the back bumper back on. However, I can't seem to find the actual connector itself Can someone kindly remind me where it is Ta

It's coming round to that time of year again. I.e. Fly back to the uk and spend some quality time on the zed. This time last year I thought I had finished but I've to keep myself busy Woking out how best to waste my money on my car based OCD. For those that are interested, here are the bits that will be going on with photos where I can. The biggest project is the turbo replacement, I've gone with the czp 600 package with ams manifolds and 3"down pipes Next up are some interior upgrades, mostly all Oem. I found a brand new set of door cards for a good price, so I snapped them up. They will need a bit of a retrim but will really bring…

Hi Anyone got any idea why my power steering goes heavy when the weather is wet or damp. When it happens it is for a little while, then its like a switch turning on and its fine again. Got car back 2 weeks ago from having cam belt replaced, mentioned this at the time, mechanic checked over, new PS belt, no leaks, he did say there was a little air in the system which he removed and when i picked up no problems. Now weather has changed goes heavy. Getting frustrating and have MOT next week.

Has anyone changed the starter relay inhibitor on their car? Either UK or JDM? I have read the link below from the TT.net site, and I cannot see the relay in the passenger side wing. I then checked the drivers side and my car doesn't have the small black canister mentioned in the how to guide, or as far as I can see this blue relay. Any chance being a U.K. car the relay is placed else where? Or even deleted? http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/tech/starterrelay/starterrelay.html
