I've just had the oil in my diff and gearbox changed. The garage followed the instructions in the service manual, but I have a problem now. In the morning (or when the car is cold) it clunks into 1st and 2nd gear. Once warmed up it's no problem. This wasn't the case before, I bought the oil they put in - it was 80/90 ( the spec. is 80 for the gearbox and 90 for the diff.) so I made a compromise. Any one had the same problem - or found a better oil to use in the gearbox. It's okay once warmed up, but a bitch to start with.

Well come on guys, not a bad idea eh? I'm into my Superbikes and most of the mags have these great pics of the geezers ride with his scantily clad wife/girlfriend/whatever posing with the bike. How about the same with the Z's. Spice things up a bit 'round here! What does everyone else think? Tim ;-{)

This has just landed in my email. Dont know if it works. If anyone tries it let the rest of us know ;-) /\/\ark We discovered that this procedure works nationwide. Read it and try it, you have nothing to lose but the points on your license. This is how it works: If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light or whatever the case may be, and you are going to get points on your licence, then there is a method to ensure that you DO NOT get any points. When you get your fine, send in the cheque to pay for it and if the fine is say, 40, then make the cheque out for 41 or some small amount over the fine. The system will then have to send …

Thanks to people who replied to my previous post. I fitted a SONY head unit today in place of the OE Clarion model. It fits okay, but there is no way I can get the plastic surround to fit, any one had this problem before? What do you do? Also reading throught the service manual I found out the AMP is for the rear speakers, however - It doesn't say where it is. Is it in the back of the car, or should it be in with the Head Unit? If it should, mine must have been missing. Thanks again.

I seem to have trashed a complete set of Bridgy S02's in about 4000 miles. Do we have a) a favoured recomendation for replacements and b) a reasonably priced supplier ? I just checked Kwik-Fit online and came up with F £172, R £193. Last time I used them the price was OK, but they managed to get the wheels mixed up ( L-R not front to back!) and TOTALLY screwed the balancing.

  19. One for the wheel and tyre experts out there. Should the tyre pressures stay as standard with bigger wheels and tyres? It seems to me that if the tyre is wider then the pressure should come down a bit on standard. I have 235/40 - 18 front and 265/35 - 18 rear.

My Z is in need of a spray job after being vandalized end of last year. My insurance company have told me to use my local Nissan garage, but I'm considering using Luke (Z centre). I've had previous bother with paintshops and insurance (I used a friends mate for a previous job and they did a bodge)and I basically wanted to know if anyone has used Luke for paintjobs and how have you found it. I've seen Steve E's job and it's very nice, but I just want to make sure. Vijay

It looks like it's my turn for a bit of bad luck. Can you believe that my Zed got damaged whilst on my drive! Got home Friday to find a big dent into the drivers door and rear quarter panel. The impact is right where the door handle is and I can't open the door!!! I couldn't quite believe what i was looking at!!!! I knock on the neighbours door and they saw everything and got the car registration!! Result!!! So the police have the number and will contact to say they will be prosecuting. I hope they throw the book at them. I will need a new door skin and rear quarter panel. They also hit the bumper on the back and that will need replacing. Min…

Couple of questions: 1) I have the original Radio Cassette and CD Player in my car. It all works, aside from the CD Display has died. I have just brought a SONY CD head unit. What do people have in place of the CD player in their cars. I.E. The slot underneath, in my old 200SX I had a small compartment with a spring loaded flap. 2. Are the rear speakers 4x6? I put some Kenwood ones in my 200 and you could hardly hear them? Are they worth getting, which are the best and is there a better option. I don't want to go mad? Thanks, Martin
