GuyZ I need to get my bodywork sorted on the old TT. Looking is age a bit now (1990). What should I expect to pay for a respray and spoiler fitting. I have some quotes but they seem rediculas. What have some of you guyZ paid. Would also quite like a big spoiler. Is the Z Center the only place for your car to be seen? I know they do an excellent job but I live in Woking Surrey. CheerZ for any help. Tim

underneath the dash on the passanger side, sort of behind the glove box is a round unit of about 6 inches and I think it goes through the firewall. It has a connector with 2 wires coming out of it. On the opposite side to the connector it has a small ribbed plastic tube coming out of it, but the other end is not connected to anything. Is this right? Cheers Vijay

And another day bites the dust working on the Z... Changed the spark plugs - jeez thats a job and a half isn't it! Trying to prise the balance tube out of the way.. Not to mention finding that every single one of the clips on the coil pack plugs is broken Fixed my stock boost gauge (tap the needle and it came back to life).. From opening the door, to having put it all back together again in 23 mins flat.. Not bad eh? Still have that elusive leak from the driver side.. it's dripping off the AIV flexible hose - looks like coolant, but *could* be PS fluid (anyone ever known PS fluid to be green? light green, almost clear).. Hard to tell, it feels oily, but…

Has anyone else got a noisy fan in the overhead T bar section which pulls air over the air con sensor. It really bugging me, I took it out and cleaned it and oiled the bearing but it still wirls away as soon as the ignition is on, not major loud just enough...sound like the window is open a little, any thoughts on if it would effect the temp / climate control if I disconnected it??? Hiya all, can anyone tell me what the elec. fan does in front of the smaller rad cause this weekend it's come on all the time. I've not heard it before. Popped the bonnet up & wiggled the yellow connector on the water outlet pipe to the rad and it stops & starts, obviously dodgy connector, but I was wondering whether it should be on all the time or whether I got an overheating problem or not. Please, anybody with any ideas cheers.

How easy is it to remove the standard cloth seat trim for cleaning? Is it possible? If so, can I just bung them in the washer with a bucket of Bold? Ta. Jonny Clark - Belfast

I made sure my drainage holes were clear from the T top area today and I just wanted to know if there's supposed to be actual holes at the bottom somewhere cos the water came out from the seam on the bottom of the car? Vijay

Sorry - I just had to tell someone... My Z (which has been up on axle stands for 4 months while I replaced the water pump) moved, under it's own steam today. Not hesitation either! And an ECU code 55! Life don't get much better... Oh boy is it good to be back. The Rover 214 didn't really cut it... JonnyC - Belfast

This is my second 300ZXTT, my first being a UK car with manual gearbox, my current car is a Jap import with automatic gearbox. Odly, I've had the same problem with both cars. The aircon seems to blow out warm air (really quite warm!) when set to minimum temperature (10 degrees C). After a while, I do get cooler air but only at about ambient temperature. Any ideas what's wrong?

hiya, sorry i haven't been about too much lately, had plenty of other things to contend with lately. good to see even more new members, including Dazz, a very valuable resource for the forum, believe me. 1) have caught up with most of the posts, and like the idea of a forum dedicated to posting latest prices paid for specific parts etc. idea posted by ManicTT on 3/9 as long as you can all police yourselves and just post the required info, then that sounds cool to me. so the topic would be the part, and you post replies which are the prices and supplier ? 2) also, have thought again about having a specific technical questions forum. i enjoy …

I've got the Snooper SLD 920 (thanks Bob) and managed to fix the two laser heads to the underside of the front vent (in the rain) but how on earth do I connect the wires from the engine bay to the cabin without removing the whole dash and engine. It's bloody tight in there. Does anyone know of an easy way to run the wires into the cabin without too much hardwork???? Cheers, Van

Spent another afternoon working on the car.. Went to Halfords, and invested in a 3tonne speedlift hydraulic jack - I can highly recommend them.. However - take a mate with you.. I can barely lift it on my own! (The back end of the Renault went down about 2" when I put it in the boot, it's *that* heavy).. My top tip for jacking the car up - drive the front onto some 2x4" planks, then the jack goes straight under the front, onto the crossmember and jack in the middle Changed the oil (Mobil1 15w50), oil filter, and fuel filter.. Sliced my hand open nicely doing that one! Started the car up and within about 5 seconds the tappets all shut up nicely Love…

Right, when u fire up ma Z u get about 4 kg/cm2 oil pressure. Bu if u rev the tits off it it goes down to just under 2 kg/cm2 and (when idle again) and it goes up and down the guage a bit. Whats going on is it supposed to do that?

Hi All. A while back I posted info on a problem i was having on the stability of my Z. The problems seemed to be from the rear. The mechanic has now checked the car and found play on the passenger side rear wheel. HE reckons it's the rear stearing rack? Is this a likely source of the problem? I have sourced a rear steaking rack from a local jap engine breaker. My car is a 93TT (UK), whereas the rack is of a 91TT Import. Are they the same?

Hi Guy's My Auto Gearbox is giving up the ghost, ok in first and second but doesn't drive when switching to third. Phoned local Transmission dealers and they are quoting £850+vat fitted, for a Re-conditioned box. Does this sound reasonable and has anybody had a re-con box fitted, are you happy with it. Any info much appreciated. Cheers Dave.
