I am due to install my new HKS boost controller on saturday and I need some help. I have found some install info on TTnet about how to install an Apexi super AVC-R. Does this have the same plumbing as a HKS EVC4? Could I use this info to install my boost controller?. How long would it take to install a boost controller?. I would be grateful for any help guys Cheers Simon H (not looking forward to Saturday!!!)

Has anyone her ever had experience of using NOS on any car let alone a ZX? Is it legal in the UK to use it? Is it worth it or is it asking for trouble?

Hiya chaps, after cleaning my throttle bodies out, I reset the ECU and the revs idled about 1300 rpm. I've done a little over 250 miles now and it's not particularly altered. So, I tried setting the TPS to .42 Volts, with engine running disconnected the IAA connector and adjusted the idle, got it to 1000rpm with no more adjustment on the screw. Re-connected the IAA plug made no difference at all. Apparently from the procedure I should hear the solenoid click and the revs rise slightly but no. Checked for voltage at the IAA on idling & I got 12V which is correct. Tried cleaning the connector but no joy. I'm lost now as to what to do. So maybe someone could point me in …

Still working on taking the inlet manifolds off, removed the remaining (exposed) fuel hose & damnpers etc, then started on the injector connectors... First one I came to, pushed the little metal retainer out, pulled.. Nothing, didn't budge... Pried a bit with a screwdriver... Strange cracking noise, and it came off.. Leaving half the connector welded to the top of the injector.... Az ------------------ Stage: Rather Ill

Lads and Laddess' alike, I know we haven't bought our ZX's for their amazing fuel economy figures but I am curious to know what the average mileage is from a full tank of fuel on the TTs. Obviously you who need new tyres every 6 months will be counting gallons to the mile instead of the other way round but I am only interested in the normal figures including warm up and cool down tick over time. Does about 20mpg sound right?

Hi All In a previous post, i sought advise on problems with stability on my Zed..... I had Darren (Zed Guru) go over my motor today. He has recommened the following require a change: (i)Rear sub frame bushes, (ii) Rear hicas steering rack. (Hence the problem with stability!!) Any ideas where I get these parts from ?? The rack will have to be 2nd hand as a new one costs 1K+vat. (Beginning to wonder why i never stuck to my corolla diesel....lol) CheerZ

Has anyone out there done away with any more than the cats I am sure that I can get more power if I can junk the EGR valves etc. I have no cats so dont really see the need for most of it any more. Also has any one fitted poly bushes to their car (18 piece kit) good/bad/indifferent?

I have uneven tyre wear on my front tyres only, they are both wearing badly on the outsides. I called Micheldever tyres and they said that they will charge £25 to do the trackng. This is to check all 4 wheels and track the front ones. Then a bloke at work said that this is a con as they will track my wheels and then say that it is the calipers or something and this will cost around £100 and will have to book me in. Is this true.....?

Well my first full tankfull made no difference whatsoever to the mpg and no discernible difference to performance - it just cost more and it was a pain to find. I'll continue to use it for about a month just to give it a chance and then decide. Maybe it's just a 'track day' fuel rather than every day. Make a difference to anyone else ? Maybe it only makes a difference for the more highly tuned engines and when they're driven harder than just in daily traffic ? I'll publish my fuel consumption figures sometime soon and you can judge for yourselves. (If anyone wants a copy of my noddy fuel calculating spreadsheet then let me know).
