OK - I'm taking the inlet manifolds off (as many of you know already ), and I'm contemplating getting the injectors ultrasonically cleaned & balanced (I'd upgrade but a) stock turbos so no point, and b) I can't afford a grand on injectors!).. Do people have any preferred places for this? Is it worth risking damaging them getting them out of the fuel rail to get it done? Or just leave well alone? An earlier thread led me to think it might be a laugh to recount those horror stories - but not just the big crashes. Let me start by setting the scene ... Driving along happily about 500 yards from a roundabout at about 40 mph in my Datsun 100A (and, no, that's not the horror story). Wasp flies in the window. With incredible precision I hit him with the back of my hand but don't kill him. Initial problem - one seriously pissed off wasp. Pissed off wasp drops like a stone between my legs. Second problem - one seriously scared Hairsy. Immediate reaction is to stand up. Third problem - I had one foot covering the accelerator and one foot covering th…

Calling all IT boys out there ...! I just updated my McAffee virus definition files and wouldn't you know it, it found an infected file. The file in question, SYSOCMGQ.EXE was allegedly infected with the W32/MAGISTR.DAM3 virus and was "untreatable" and was therefore deleted off my system. Now, when I start the PC up a warning screen pops up saying it can't find this file and if I would be so kind as to change the reference to it in the WIN.INI file. In the file the .exe is referenced to in the [WINDOWS] section and reads: RUN=SYSOCMGQ.EXE. Before I delete this line and could someone tell me what this file is actually used for and if I need to replace it with a clean…

I'm in the process of removing the upper inlet manifold - so far I have the coil packs out (and connectors numbered), balance tube off, throttle cables off, and some fuel & vac hoses off... Question is; How are you supposed to get at the metal retaining clips on the injector connectors!? Damn they're hard to get to.. Aanyway just thought I'd share that Az ------------------ Yes.. I know my back wheels *were* on backwards.. They're not now, 'k? ;) Stage: Rather Ill

Hello guys, Have any of you seen/or have a Zed with Antera 309 alloys on it? I think it looks very nice but worry about it not fitting the lug pattern on our beauties. Also, anyone know what the propper offset should be for a wheel like this (18" rims)? Any advise is always welcome. Cheers! Danny [This message has been edited by Danny (edited 01-10-2001).]

Hi guys for any interested party I am adding an extra service to my present business as some of you have not the available tools or time for short engine and brake services I am looking to do a mobile service for zeds and as I have trade accounts for Nissan parts prices are going to be well lower than Nissan, and the convenience of a home / office service. So you know I have been removing, servicing, upgrading engines and cars in general for over 20 years so no worries there. However as my location is central england (Midlands) any travel costs could be ofset by a group booking, well mail me or whatever if interested. After spending the whole day finally dismantling my engine, I thought I'd share some of horrors that I came across: Firstly, EVERY SINGLE injector connector, the two connectors above the EGR valve, and the knock sensor looked like this: ...(And this may be the only time some of you ever see the knock sensor Its in the most impossible place to reach - I have no idea how you'd go about changing it, without stripping your car to bits) Not good, this must explain why the engine seemed to have its good and bad days! And the next picture makes me wonder exactly what my local Nissan dealer didn't tell me when they changed the spark plugs: …
