Whilst minding my own business on that sunny Sunday driving up to Silverstone for Trax I came upon (not in the Biblical sense) what appeared to be a hapless Sapphire Cosworth. It was at a roundabout on the A43 and the Saff spots my evil Zed as we 'round the 'bout'. Hi fellaz, I had a rather worrying experience yestoday. Coming back from Harry's the car started with the HICAS warning light on. Thought ohhhhhhh shiiiiiitttttttt. Drove down the car park with no strange/lack of power steering. Turn the ignition off and restarted and HICAS warning light disappeared, phhhewwwww. Car drove fine after that. Errrrr, should I be worried as this could be a warning of future Zed sickness????? Today, got the wheels/ tyres sorted out i.e. left wheels on left side of car and right wheels on right. Was speaking with my engine builder today about engine balance and brought up the subject on lightened flywheels and underdrive pulleys. I think everyone who currently has an underdrive pulley fitted must notice the more agressive engine note beyond 3000rpm. The is because the at certain RPM's, the crankshaft will resonate violently and this usually overcome by the stock front pulley with harmonic balancer. The outer part of the stock pulley is supported by a flexible rubber bond which dampens the tortional vibration of the crank. An underdrive pulley does not have a tortional dampener built into it and therefore cannot dampen the vibration resulting in r…

is it a good idea to clean off all the crap that builds up inside the wheel arches or does it offer some sort of protection? If I clean it off, do I spray or paint anything on there like waxoil? Vijay

I have a lovely Momo steering wheel and the guy I bought my Zed from, Chris Foster, kindly agreed to swap the center cap on my newly bought wheel for a cool Nizmo one (as this looked daft on his Escort Cabrio) After we had got the business of exchanging hairdresser gags out the way we swapped, only mine got lost in the post Now I feel like a complete c*** and was, in a long winded way, gonna ask if anyone knows where I can buy a standard Momo center cap? Hi GuyZ, Just thought I'd post this after my latest experience. You may or may not have seen that my petrol filler neck tube thingy was completely rusted away. Anyway, the reason I'm posting this is to suggest that you just keep an eye on things down there as it is well hidden away and I had no clues whatsoever until the pipe was completely goosed Only a five second job to remove the arch liner at the back and check the condition etc - god knows how much fuel I've wasted cleaning the roads with it... The problem would have come if some fuel had splashed onto the exhaust and gone up in flames.... I wouldn't have been very happy then A very quick check would…

Where do the drain holes on the T-Tops drain to. I think that is where the water is getting in to my car. The holes at the back of the T-Tops, just seem to run down the inside the door pilar. The front ones just seem to seap the water through the rubber Any suggestions? Stuart

Have just bought an 90/91 uk Z tottaly standard 72k car and I have a few question!My car is really gutsy- 120 miles 40 quid of fuel is this excessive or can any body suggest a known problem? Just wanted to know if any of you have gotten rid of your space-saver and replaced it with those "tyre-weld" canisters in case of a flat? I'm thinking of getting a couple of those canisters but will it actually fill a 245 size rear tyre enough to get to the nearest petrol station for some air? Anyone have any experiences (good/bad) with them? Thanks! Danny

Have you seen the indiglo dials that are being developed in the US??? They look fantastic. This pic is of the day but he said that we will get a picture of them at night soon. When he makes them for the UK TT I'm buying. Am sure if we get a few we could get some money off. Is there anywhere where we can buy them here? Stuart
