Hi all, I today did the unthinkable and reversed into a metal post protecting a tree. The tree was unharmed, but did some damage to the rear of my car. The black panel which reads '300 ZX' has some scratches on it now caused by the metal bar. Thank god it did not touch my red paintwork. Anyway, does anyone know if it is possible to remove this scratches. The panel is black, but now has some grey scratches, which is the undercoating I think of the panel. Is there any wax, scratch remover, t-cut, etc that could possibly hide or remove the scratches ? Could it be fixed by a bodyshop ? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. A.

For anyone who's interested, here are the the restrictors in a standard jap import exhaust. They are at the front of the middle section, if that makes sense and can be seen fairly clearly here :- and in comparison the rear of the middle section :- Sorry for sh1tty photo.

I'm looking for a 'simple' upgrade for the standard head unit in my Z. I don't like all the flashy lights and fiddly, small buttons on the Kenwood units. I'm thinking about the San Diego, Blaupunkt system with remote. Yep me again ???????????? Does anyone of you splendid chaps - know where I could get my hands on a Centre Prop Shaft Rubber Bush(Mounting) as mines gone a little bit knackered like!!! Does it come with the bearing or can I get just the mounting? Do I replace it with exactly the same thing or is there a manufacturer out there making silicone or poly style ones!!! Right, after a week or so battling with web servers, PHP and mySQL i finally got vBulletin to work. But once I had done it i thought, wel..what do i do with it now.. alright - here's the thing. i dont think im gonna be able to make up these headlights and/or get them fitted without makin a major hash brown of it. and i also dont think im gonna be able to rig up a temporary fog light for it. so basically if any of you guys could give me any help - in person, email, phone or whatever that would be great. i think i could get away with drivin the z, either to someones house or a meetin place or whatever - so, er, any chance of meetin up so i can get these lights sorted? right better get to bed - gotta get up early and..... well just sit in it and rev it, and er, polish it, and er, rev it some more. dont worry if ur …

Leak in heater matrix. Have removed all the dash/trim fittings etc and got to the point where the heater unit is 'free' but will not pass by the A/C cooling unit. Anyone out there know if A/C unit has to come out first or is there a 'shortcut' to achieve 1" or two just to allow heater to come out? Thanks Ben

Jeff I have the headlamps off the car, and have dismantled one. In your write up you do not mention the aluminium sheet that goes around the dip beam unit. Is this the same chrome foil or something else you used? cheers

Is this what you guys call rough idle? Car once warmed is idling at very low revs. This has only started happening over the last two or so days. Its lowest is 450 and then the ecu seems to try and up the revs and so a bit at a time the revs get up to 900 but then shoots straight down again. Has anyone fitted an engine pre-heater to a Z? I have used a Kenlowe Hotstart on a couple of my previous cars including a tuned 3.5 V8 to great success. Triggered by a timer 30-40 mins before you want to use the car, the water tem is up there already, and alright the oil has to warm up but in a warm block etc. etc... I use my Z for a short run, 4mls, every morning, I'm trying not to think of the detramental effect. Any comments welcome, inc. where to interupt the water circuit. I'm doing some ECU mods/experiments and could do with a spare ECU for a '91 Auto TT. What year did the ECU change to the new type and are they the same for Auto/Manual other than the ROM?
