Leak in heater matrix.

Have removed all the dash/trim fittings etc and got to the point where the heater unit is 'free' but will not pass by the A/C cooling unit.

Anyone out there know if A/C unit has to come out first or is there a 'shortcut' to achieve 1" or two just to allow heater to come out?

Have you removed the big steel bat that supports the steering column? I had to remove that before my heater box would come out.

 

Be v. careful not to force any of the control doors on the heater box - my de-mister vents haven't worked since I replaced the matrix in mine!

I found that the bar was the key item to remove this morning before you came back with your advice, but do appreciate you responding anyway.

 

It's all going back together now.

 

Challenging it may be, fun it ain't.

Yep, 70,000ish.

 

We heard of two others with the same problem being fixed as we were doing ours!

 

Our task wasn't helped by the fact that some xxxxxxx's had broken into the car and ripped the radio+dash out.

Second time in two weeks.

Came the first time and shattered the n/s/r 1/4 window. second time did drivers door window and the dash/cdradio.

Even with full alarm etc! Actually saw the xxxxxxxx second time but he legged it before we could get at him. Lucky guy!!
