Guyz, Its the end of the road for my Z. After almost 3 years of owning a Z I can no longer insure the bloody thing nor am I prepared to spend more thousands trying to keep it running. I will be breaking it up for parts fairly soon! Does NE1 here also own an MR2 Turbo or have a friend who owns one. I'm looking for some buying advise. No jokes pleaase. I am already gutted. Hiya All Spoke to the company doing my engine refit this morning, they hope to put in the new engine tomorrow and road test it on thursday, it's taken a little longer than expected as thev'e replaced my knock sensor and some wiring and some pipe work, so with any luck should have me Z back for early next week. We finally solved the mystery of why it went tits up, a bolt from the tensioner had sheared causing the cambelt to snap, this in turn fooked up the engine big style Never mind it's only money. BTW is anybody else going to use API, simon from there said he's had some enquiries from people from the forum?? Regards JOHN

I was sitting in traffic today. As soon as I put the air con on the engine switched off. I restarted the car and it worked fine until I put the air con on again. Was all that abou?. It won't stop doing this now. When the engine cuts out it makes a loud hissing noise and when the sir con goes on there is a slight humming noise... Any ideas?

Bought the car in November, had some oil leaks so took it to SE. Turned out the engine had major problems. Complete engine rebuild, and new 360 turbos fitted £4855. Three and a half months later and the car is ready for collection. Two days later and the auto box craps out. Car off the road for another two weeks. Bought a replacement box and back to SE for fitting. A week later and the car was ready. The following day I noticed a puff of blue smoke coming from the exhaust every time I came to a stop, I hoped that this was just things settling down after the rebuild but yesterday the blue smoke seed to be getting worse. I have a problem with the manual transmission in my 1992 300ZX n/a. When the car is off, it shifts into the gears fine. When I put the car in neutral and turn it on, I am not able to shift into any other gear. When the car is off, and I try to start it up in a gear (1st), the car wants to move forward by itself even though the clutch is pushed in all the way. Any help or comments would be great. I aquired a tv head unit with my z it seems to be standard equipment but i can only pick up poor quality pictures and no sound does anyone know if i can get this fixed or converted to work in uk if need be. Also does anyone know if you can wire these to work with a different head unit or do i have to keep listening to radio 2?

Guys, When i had my PTU trouble over the last 6-7 weeks ago AndyP very kindly helped me out .When i got my PTU back off AndyP I fitted it on & it worked well for a couple of days,then for no reason it started to miss slightly & there was a smell & a slight mist of oil coming from the back of the engine.In the morning the car started normaly & the miss & the mist of oil had gone.Did two or three hundred miles & the ptu let me down .Took it off & repaired it myself,it worked fine for a couple of days & then the same thing happend again.
