Hi I have just managed to sort my brakes today but after close inspection I have a few dodgy pistons managed to free up working now. OK so not made of money and I am a firm believer that if the stock calipers working properly coupled with good discs pads should stop well going to get rebuild kit for all calipers but stuck on discs and pads Been looking at full set grooved discs with mintex m144 racing pads anyone tried these ? What you all got and how do you find there performance ? And any suggestions ? And don't say big brake kit unless your paying

To try and cure the problem of the coolant boiling over As some of you know I bought an alloy rad and a new thermostat and changed the hoses. While all the hoses were off I managed to flush the system through each one of the holes with the front pipes off to check the flow, and it all seemed good. managed to get rid of all the minging brown water too. Got the new rad fitted and bled up ok, but something still didn't seem right. After every test drive with my ear close to the rad cap I could here the coolant bubbling, It was no where near as violent as it was from the old rad, it was shaking the overflow bottle or leaking out onto the road. (the old rad cap…

For ages now, I've been wanting to 'upgrade' as it were to the wiper blades as seen on cars like the Lexus IS250 etc.... ...like this (this isn't mine by the way - not with that wiper arm fitment and tatty scuttle panel! haha I have NEVER liked the Bosch aero wiper blades - that great big knuckle screams 'universal' and isn't what I would call 'sleek and inkeeping'. Well, for those of you that are also as anal as me (probably not too many of you) and want something a little more 'OEM-esque', I came across these. They're called 'hybrid wipers'. http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/search/?keyword=hybrid They have the cover on them making them l…

This is most probably in the wrong place but I may as well ask around, seeing as my car's gearbox seems to be working well, and ive spent loads on the engine , I want to spend some money on tidying her up a bit as I seem to have spent loads on the mechanical side if things, I need a decent set of black leather front seats, no rips no wear, a good stereo set up including speakers as mine are crap. I would also like some metal intercooler pipes rather than the blue ripspeed ones I currently have, and anything else that anyone can think of to make her look smart, ive spent so much recently I intend to keep her. let me know what u guys have and prices and i'l…

My Z is going into the paintshop for some remedial work next month. I am back pondering a moustache! I know PolioJ is an advocate of them. I'd be having it painted with a dark metallic grey, the indicators and fog lights will have a light tint film on them. I like the look of both, but the moustache almost gives the car more 'girth' by illusion! Unsure. I am still thinking that this look is a 50/50 split....

just want to check with the tec bods what my camber should be set at, i use the car for normal road use, lowered 20mm using eibach springs with kyb shocks (non adjustable) with 19" wheels, 8.5 front 9.5 rear, just had it set up but can get it readjusted if needed, it's close to the stock settings on the machine with a little extra adjustment to allow for the wider wheels, but still within the specified range. front left -1º 24 front right -1º03 rear left -0º59 rear right -0º54 the car does feel a lot more positive on the road now than before, but don't want to wear the tyres excessively

Hi all I wondered if you could help me out with your experience. I am a new member and looking to buy a Jap sports car. I like the 300zx but people are telling me that they have a chronic rust problem, alternators go easily, engines are cramped in the bay and so hard to work on and hard to tune and something about them being prone to overheating with regards to the housing around the spark plugs. If this is true is there anyway around these problems by modernising the car; modern alternator, under sealing it etc. Also are parts very expensive. For example with a GTO I have heard that they cost a bomb to fix and maintain. I would be grateful for some ad…

Hi all, I would like to be able to use either Consult or Datascan on my Zed, can anyone advise on what spec laptop would serve the purpose? We have every other kind of device in our household but not a laptop, I presume that it would have to be an old laptop - maybe running Windows XP? :confused1: Any help would be appreciated, as I need to get to the bottom of an engine related problem that my Zed has. Thanks - Andy

After the last 3 weekends of preparing my NA diff conversion on my TT which entailed removing my TT diff/subframe etc from the car and repainting the NA subframe. Also had to transfer the poly bushes for the diff but decided to retain the OEM main subframe bushes in favour of cutting dowm the noise transmitted into the cabin. I replaced the diff side and pinion seals while it was out and gave the diff a coat of black paint and also had a new centre bearing fitted to the prop shaft and a balance. With the TT diff and I always found the car to have very "long" legs, perhaps due to 19" alloys and the lag on my GT675RS turbos found it to be a bit slow on the power deliver…

So lets talk about manifolds. To spool a turbo don't you want evenly spaced pulses of exhaust gas hitting the power turbine? So on an evo or the like, you get a one of those octopusses orgy looking manifolds. That makes the pulses from 1-3-2-4 arrive as a constant rhythym through varying the pipe lengths? I think I have heard the contrary.
