Ive been reading all the threads people have posted about driving vibrations. from what ive read, I seem to be suffering from a dodgy prop shaft bearing. At about 30-50 mph the vibration is really bad especially when cold. It does seem to be coming from directly beneath me as my seat vibrates like crazy (shame im not a lass). If I stop then set off again it sometimes eases it and after a while presumably when it warms up it seems to almost go away. Is a prop bearing the most likely cause?

i am going to spay and fit new spoiler,99 spec bumper i will be doing all the prep work and fitting the spoiler. just wondering if any of you can give any advice like what fillers are good, treating my rusty arch and anything you think of. i will not be spraying it i was thinking of taking it to z centre as they said a£1000 it will be the same colour do you rate the spray jobs

Hi people I am new to the jap car scene and have decided to ask for advice from the people most knowledgable.......the owners. For the past two years I have been driveng a Rover 620ti and the gearbox has just gone ( a common problem for the 620ti) have been looking at a list of my next cars and have got it down to two. Mitsi 3000gto 300zx Now, the Z seems a nice car but there are a few things that i dont like about it. 1, Most i have seen are autos :( and the gearbox is a weak link ( serious sence of deja vue there) and 2, Most I have seen are autos ,hehe What i could do with is some advice from other auto zx drivers in to what they have found with…

Hello all, Tried to change my spark plugs today and found I have the wrong type of spark plug spanner (Seemed to be too fat to fit down those holes) . Can someone please advise me what the correct one is, is it a special tool from Nissan or something I could get from Halfords. Thank you in advance. Gerrard

Owt else I can check - Duffer looked at car and couldnt work it out. Both my front wheels (drivers side more than passenger) is too far forward and on turning wheels is rubbing on inner plastic guard. only got 17" modena's on with low profile tyres, it was still too far forward with std wheels anyway. Ive had both the lower control arms replaced as these were cracked but they are still too far forward. As duffer and JeffTT both looked at car a while ago and its foxed them, Im just wondering what else. Car hasnt been in an accident - no buckling anywhere, all obvious signs checked for. how do i lift the bloody thing off? (the ar$e bit no the back bit) ive hauled and pulled and it wont come, i dont want to bent the frame, and the plastic clip doesnt want to unclip, there must be a knack to it, im trying to run my speaker cables under it to the boot.

MY heater is not blowing anymore. I fixed the ballast behind the glovebox a while ago and its gone again. Is there a fuse I can check anywhere before I rip the ballast out and order a replacement? Anywhere else to check? Cheers

Hi Guys, As a new member, I must apologise in advance for asking a question, no doubt asked a dozen times before but, having just aquired a 300ZX swb 1990-91 model, can anyone direct me to where I might find a copy of the original drivers instruction booklet. This is not the service guide I'm after but the document normally kept with the car which basically explains all the controls etc. Any help would be much appreciated.

im thinking about buying a mongoose exhaust for my zed , does anyone know if there any good??? or can someone suggest a suitable exhaust for my zed?? , its a tt manual import

i have a uk spec twin turbo auto..and all of sudden its started dropping out of drive..ie will suddenly free rev and then clonk as it re engages. sometimes it will reverse ok but not engage drive ?...oil level seems ok ie over the indicator on the dip stick and no warning lights are coming on? Plus when i floored it whilst doing 90 or so the engine just revved right up and nothing happened in the forward propelling area??? any ideas?

I am badly in need of some new discs on the front. I am having real problems deciding which route to take though and am on a tight budget. after seeing chunks boot without a spoiler im really liking them without a spoiler just the boot on its own lol thought about a 99 spec spoiler but im not sure now makes the car look totally different and better i think :duffer:

I need a little help... I have a 300zx and its running rich... loads of black soot over the exhaust and drinks more than it should.. I think it started after i changed the exhaust and go the decat put on (maybe something to do with loss of back pressure - could that be a reason) Will a Conzult test sort out the problem and get it running right again? I am getting an airfilter and grounding kit for it - should i fit these before doing the test? Cheers Z Man

every time it rains over night, i start my z and it will not go over 3-4000 revs it will drive and if i drive about for a while it sometimes sorts it self out.my first thought was wet air flow meter but when i checked it was all dry.has anyone else had the same problem? any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi All Not been working hard on the car recently as I bought a daily runner to use while getting the Z fixed. However, put the engine back in a few weeks back and that seems to be running good. Also, nearly finished painting the rusty rear panel which I should hopefully finish at the weekend. Exhaust is still blowing a bit which shouldn't take too long to weld up hopefully for the MOT. However, I'm having clutch problems. The pedal had gone pretty low the day before the turbos blew, which I'd though at the time must be due to fluid leakage. Forgot all about it and took the engine out, did the work and put it back in again. I've pressure bled the lines with …

I have just got my Z and am loving every second of it. I had the car up on the ramps at work to check the underside and the condition of the exhaust. Please excuse my ignorance but I am wondering what the smaller pipe that joins the large diameter pipe on each side is? Am I correct in thinking that it is something to do with the turbos? If so how do you go about replacing the exhaust? Thanks all!

hi i just picked up my 300zx tt manual thats an import . i am new to this car and have no mechanical experience and very little knowledge towards this car but am eager to learn. i have loads of questions to ask but here are just a few if anyone could help : 1.The car has an evc installed ( which i believe is a fancy boost controller???) can anyone shed any light on this and would the car have had to have been chipped to use it ? 2. what boost pressure can i run safely (my gauge is in kg/cm2) 3.the cars oil gauge is reading very low but i have no tapping knocking or smoke from the car are the gauges usually duff or should i get this checked out? …
