Have an 89 300zx 2x2 non turbo and need to replace the crank. Any ideas on where to find one?

My original 1991 NA has came home. Bit worse for wear so unfortunately it's a breaker now.

I have a spare forged engine build that paperwork says has Jim Wolf Cams and Springs. Does anyone know if these markings confirms this or not. the only thing i can see is the yellow paint which seems to match. As i'm building up my primary engine again i'm thinking about transplanting these to the main build too.

I sold my old black 300zx last summer aaaaaaaaaand the itch has never left! I think I need to get back in to a new Zed! Gotta be manual, TT but red this time. I feel like this time I wanna modify it more. Make it what I wanted my black one to be! How’s the market at the moment?

My bonnet insulation was getting a bit tatty, so I have removed it. What can I use instead and does it have to be bonnet insulation? Not looking for chrome/mirror look.

Hello all! been a long time! starting the proses of getting a zed back on the road and while going through my old zed i found my ecu has been socketed and wanted to try and identify this Eprom. couldn't find any information online but though some of the big brains in here might have seen one before and recognize it. any help appreciated but understand there were quite a few types of these out there and may never know without pulling it and reading it. many thanks :)

Hi everyone My newly revived zed is currently in Jimmer's capable hands for a 120k service. Unfortunately he's discovered that the aircon compressor had seized and needs to be replaced. He's advised that I have an early style pump with both pipes on the side of the housing (not on the rear like the 93 onwards models). Does anyone have a working compressor, perhaps from from a breaker, that they're willing to part with? I'll need to get it fully reconditioned. Also, can anyone confirm the right part number so that I can be confident I'm sourcing the correct item? CheerZ Steve

After attending Beaulieu the previous weekend, we decided a little return trip to The New Forest was in order to see a couple of places we missed. In the Zed of course..... First stop was Hythe for breakfast, then a visit to Calshot Castle, finally dropping in at Burley before heading home. Well worth burning a tank of fuel for....😁

As one or two of us know, last weekend was Simply Japanese at Beaulieu. So as usual, Julia and I decided to make a weekend of it - we drove down Saturday morning for a little mini-break. Started the day in Lyndhurst - and had to stop by the Ferrari dealers for a little look. Then on to Highcliff in Dorset for a nice sunny day at the beach, before heading back to our hotel near Marchwood.

I took my Zed out yesterday and all was fine - as usual - until suddenly the speedo stopped working and the PAS went stiff. The HICAS light came on at some point - but went out when I restarted the car after stopping at the local garden centre. When I restarted it a third time, the auto-box light blinked a few times before going out, so when I got home I ran the auto-box diagnosis check. And sure enough, flash number 2 was the longest, indicating a speed sensor fault. I saved the tip from JeffTT, which Andrew kindly shared recently - where the sensor can be fixed with epoxy resin, but sadly I could not get under the car to check and mend, if that plastic bit has popped o…

This a dire warning for any budding newbies not to buy the above white UK automatic being offered on various auction sites.The last owner took action against 1st Choice cars of Faringdon after an inspection by me & ACE .The car is a breaker it is so tatty & poorly maintained.It has serious mechanical issues & should never have been sold.The car was finally returned after a 6 month legal battle.My guy paid 11,995 for it when it was worth 2k at best.The car has low compression on cylinder 6,No AC,Split steering rack gaitors,badly corroded brake pipes,A hole in the floor that is structural,A dangerously worn Hicas joint,The fuel tank is sweating petrol around …

It's that time again, when i need to upload all the proof i can for my agreed valuation. Now my zed been off the road since 2017 and hopefully it will be back on the road this year as i get my engine back next week. That been said what does everyone thing the evaluation on this will be or should say my target value. Whole car has been rebuilt including the engine which Jimmer done.

Afternoon all After 12 years off the road (tax disc ran out on 31/07/2013!) I took my zed to our local MOT tester this morning. Pleased to report that she passed with no advisories! I was present for the test and had a chance to inspect the car when she was on the ramps. All looks tidy and is a testament to my weather tight garage! Renewed the tax and took her off SORN as soon as I got home. Next job is a proper service and possibly a 120K service and more thorough health check. Hi everyone so i have a issue that isn’t entirely an issue, so i bought 2 HKS ssqv bovs, that are genuine hks part. And i took my old recirc valves off, capped the recirculating ports, and installed my new hks bovs, i was really excited to hear the high pitched hks sound, but to my surprise they kinda sound the same but only a tad bit louder. Its only a flutter and not a high pitched sound. I did all the research i can but i cant seem to find out why they don't make the sound, people have had them break, and leak, and cause a surge, some say that their car wouldn’t idle with them, but mine acts just fine, it actually seems to run better. My only guess is not enough boost…

I bought some new interior tailored mats for my Zed - from the RAC shop, at the bargain price of £50 for the set. I'd previously bought some of their Prestige mats for Julia's Evoque, and was very impressed with the quality and depth of the pile. So I thought I'd get a set for the Zed; and even though they are only £55 a set, they just happened to have a 10% discount promotion. So I went for the black mats with grey and blue pre-stitch trim. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with them and highly recommend these to anyone! Oh, and I'll be selling my old ones on Ebay in the next few days.......😉

I recently checked my oil and water and found that the radiator filler neck was clogged with orange gunk! My car has been off the road for 17 years but it has always had antifreeze in it and not just water, which i changed about 3 moths ago. I've now done 400 miles and checked the radiator a month ago and it was clean. Could this be head gasket? There is no creamy gunk under the oil cap or dipstick, the car doesn't smoke or over heat. Because it's orange could it just be rust out of the water ways that has eventually worked it's way out after being stood for so long? Me and my daughter do a roadtrip each year about this time of year. This year we decided to do the Republic of Ireland and extend our usual 4 days to 5. This is the first time I've had to see just what the ZX is capable of. Sarah who being an ex karter can pedal very competently has a 986 Boxter which is known for it's sweet handling so is a good benchmark. The good news is both cars performed faultlesly over the 1.3k plus miles in very hot temperatures and I was very impressed with the way mine performed and Sarah commented on how good it looked when she was following me, especially when her car is shod with newish PS4'S while mine has 12 year old Continentals.
