Been following this on the various US forums, and have sumarised below. This is the SPL 300zx owned and driven by Mike Kojima and Ryan Schimsk competing in the Redline time attack event at California speedway. It got 2nd at the Modified Class, losing only by 0.2 seconds to a NSX Twin Turbo(!) with 650RWHP driven my Pro race driver. It beat plenty of highly modified Impreza's, Evo's, 350z's, S2000's and porches. Neither Mike or Ryan are pro drivers, and neither had been on the Califonia speedway track before. In Car footage 1 - http://www.splparts.com/events/redline0207/Redline2.mpg In Car footage 2 - Against Modified 600hp Porsche…

Costs of synthetics vary considerably. The most expensive are the “Ester” types originally only used in jet engines. These cost 6 to 10 times more than high quality mineral oils. The cheapest synthetics are not really synthetic at all, they are dug out of the ground and not manmade. These are in fact specially refined light viscosity mineral oils known as “hydrocracked” oils. “Hydrocracked” oils have some advantages over their equivalent mineral oils, particularly in lower viscosity motor oils such as 5w-30 and 5w-40 and they cost about 1.5 times more than good quality mineral fractions. This is the “synthetic” which is always used in cheap oils that are label…

Does anyone know the measurements for the stereo dins please? Im putting a screen in for the carputer and wanted to know what the width at the lowest point on the single din is so from bottom left to bottom right and the same for the top din. The bottom one narrows so i have less to play with down there :( Also what depth from the front of the fascia untill you hit the cage? From the surface to the first bit it would hit. Its so i can see what the largest screen i can get will fit with the least hacking needed. Any pics of inside with the fascia off would be great too please :D Thanks!

My missus passed this on to me and I thought it may be useful for those of your inclinded to put your foot down :D Very interesting - Speeding Fines info, I cant vouch for it personally but this is what i got sent.... In case you know anyone who is ever caught for speeding: Just thought I would share this with you, as you know I work in the speeding fine department in Swindon's Magistrate's Court. In the course of my investigation into "fines, their payment methods, and how points are automatically added against drivers licences" we discovered something very interesting "If You Get a Speeding Fine." This has been tried and it works so if you ev…

Anyone ever thought of making these, it may make wiring in a boost controller or other elec gizmos a little easier, and it would be useable across a lot of nissans?

Hi all Trying to sort out boost issues, not long had my car back its been off the rd some time...... 1st ecu test got code 13 cleaned the terminals & then got code 55 But the boost is still 7psi ( have aftermarket gauge ) checked for leaks & noticed a couple of the pipes had splits in them, Znut is sorting me out with a good set until i upgrade. But i tried to temp repair them with gaffer tape, but still 7psi So my question is is the gaffer tape ok for a very temp repair, or should i wait until i put on the new pipes to get a satisfactory test. Or can i still be in safety boost even though code 55

Does anyone else have the problem that the fuel pump on the forecourt keeps tripping out no matter what angle it's at or how gently you squeeze the trigger. It's just taken me about twenty minutes to fill it up and my last Z was the same. Is this normal??.

I'm thinking about changing from TT to NA (changing cars, that is, not a conversion :D ). Most of my driving is daily commute in traffic jams so the TTs are a bit wasted. Main reason is greater practicality as a daily driver (I do about 12,000m a year). Against that is the big grin factor on the rare occasions when I do get a chance to use the loud pedal :hyper: . Not interested in mods - just good clean as-stock-as-possible. Had some good thoughts at the other place, wondered what you guys thought?
