Just been looking through there and found a few items seem to be for sale which have already been "sold" and paid for by some pretty pissed off (understandably) members. It doesn't look good for the club and it's visitors. How often does this go on? At the moment i'm awaiting delivery of something I paid for weeks ago and i'm getting messed about. I don't want to mention names as of yet, but i'm beginning to feel even more worried now after reading some of the threads where people are getting ripped off. I understand it's impossible to check on private sellers. it's left to trust and goodwill. Over the years i've bought and sold items from very decent members wi…

I am having my autobox replaced next week and only have 1st and 2nd gear. I am driving the car "gingerley" but the urge to put my foot down occasionally gets the better of me!! When I do really go for it and eventually stop, there is a smell and some smoke coming from the back of the engine?? Any thoughts? I also need to replace the gearbox oil seal too and it has been suggested that it could be this oil being burnt on my exhaust? Thoughts please! :-)

I'm just halfway through changing PCV valves that I bought from Mike Feeney yesterday to see if it helps/cures my smoking prob. Now the old PCV valves i took off (UK '90 TT Man) are slightly different to the new ones. The new ones have a 'plunger' in that is sprung halfway and then is free to float the other half of it's movement. The old ones have a plunger that is sprung all the way to the end. Quite possibly these are the original ones as i have had the car since 1999 and i have not changed them yet. Any comments on the above? Rob. N.B. My PCV hoses have quite a bit of oil in, why would this be?

:( o.k i'm being stupid. got a replacement gearknob, simple case of unscrew old and "screw" new one on.The old one is a bit stubborn and i don't want to force it and "screw" something else up. The question is do i use a bit more force to undo it or is there a much simpler way(apart from :duffer: not replacing it in the first place!)

So drove home from work today, took car to nissan garage during the day final look over and Consult check and set up before we depart next weekend for Spain in the ZED. Only, when I got home and just lifted the bonnet for a quick look I could hear bubbling and saw water all over the Nearside inner arch, it appeared to have sprayed from the expansion bottle. looked underneath and water all over nearside wheel and floor. No over heating though! :headvswal :headvswal   So waited a while, took cap off rad, no water. Topped it up then ran it up but can't reproduce it. Runs fine. took up the road and back still nothing. Can't go to Spain it if I…

Any news out there about Peter Rosenberg and his new business? Is he still doing serious work with high customer satisfaction? I have never met a more competent and serious businessman, so if you read this, Mr Rosenberg,- please get in touch. I have a BIG project for you where your skills are needed. I hear that you have made impressive engines exceeding 700 BHP. Looking forward to a serious talk with you.

Hi all, Ive had my 91 tt for 2 years now. Starting around a year ago, the car smokes, sometimes quite severly out of the left exhaust in idle. It's a kind of 'heavy' smoke. Now, I've heard some people say that it could be the turbo's packing up, and im hoping it isnt, thats very expensive to fix right? Is there anything else that could cause this smoking problem? Any help will be appreciated. Cheers.

The Z just passed it's MOT  (1st one since the decat too  ) So I'm pretty pleased :D It also has 3 Advisory Items 001 Front (both) anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a ball joint [2.4.G.3] I'd like to know what and where these are and what this would cause as I have a strange steering problem ATM 002 Front (both) brake pipes slightly corroded [3.6.B.2c] Apparently the ones that go from my braided hose to the caliper about 2" long, not to much of a problem  003 Fuel pipe/s corroded Apparently to ones that go over the rear subframe (not too sure) but again not too much of a problem  What d…

When i finally get my z roadworthy again i want to get the old girl undersealed... at the mo the underside is like new and i often eat my dinner off it! i want to keep it this way... i thought about doing it all myself but having spoken to a few specialist places its prolly a wise idea to get it done proffessionally where they have the proper tools/lances/equipment to do a thorough job in all the cavities etc... my question is, where to go that is reasonably local to me? i have been in contact with a chap called micheal at rustmaster who operates just off the m25/a1m junction. he has done several 300zx's before and gave me a nice talk on specific areas and speci…
