Has anyone bought or have any feed back on these engine for sale on EBay? They all seem to say direct from Japan and less than 30K miles! I would prefer to rebuild my own but having just done this and it only lasting 3500 miles before something has cracked inside, I'm wondering if this is an economic option. Thoughts please guys and girls. Jase

Deicded to get some fuel this afternoon (a drive of around 10 miles). Started up first time straight away no probs. When I'd fuelled up I go to start the car and nothing. All the ignition lights were on but really dull and went out when I turned it to start they all went out but the engine didn't even turn. After a bit of messing the door solenoids started operating really quickly and the alarm was beeping but the hazards were not flashing. Then after about half an hour I checked the fuses. Then not even the ignition lights or headlights or anything came on. After a while I called Chunk who came to the rescue and we jump started it and it ran. However, only the…

Had a scare going up to Leeds on saturday. Pulled into services and lo the zed was leaking fluid. from the offside front. Worried the car would overheat i brought a whole box of Volvic mineral water to replenish lost water. Well the engine response never waivered. I was fortunate to stay in a hotel that had a halfords next to it. So i parked up the zed outside. The leak was from the bottle next to the wheel arch. Some friendly yorkhsire chappie pointed out that the leak was from the refigerent\cooler bottle for heating and air con lol. So it was a false alarm. The plastic under wheel arch cover was frayed and touches the wheel on full lock. Which made the co…

Have just installed my HIDs and want to adjust the alignment of the the dipped and the main beam. I know where the adjusters are but was wondering how i line them up. Obviously i need it to be dark for a start! Do i park close to a wall or garage door and check they are at the same level but how do i know they are at the right height and the side to side alignment?

My 300ZX TT-engine took fire yesterday. All that could burn, did so. A total disaster, I have spent 3 years on engine building, and it was complete in June this year, and now I have to start from the beginning again. I got a story from a ZX-enthusiast in UK telling me that he always leaves his bonnet open when he parks his car in his garage,- due to the fire risk. The engine cools faster then. He told me that petrol filter hose clamps that are not well tightened, might cause fuel fumes and fire as the engine increases heat after being switched off. My insurance company will probably investigate the cause for the fire, so if someone has some knowledge about…

Hi all. Next weekend I am off down to SWZ to have some leather fitted. If anyone in my area has parts down there that they have bought then I could bring them back with me. The thing to consider is that I only have a SWB and I will obviously have a case in the back as well as we are going for the weekend. If you sort it with SWZ and then PM me your details then I am sure something can be sorted. Darrell

Also do certain mods make the car sound different with exceptions to the airfilters and exhausts as that's pretty obvious??? Also what about manifolds and downpipes do they alter the sound?

Just been looking through there and found a few items seem to be for sale which have already been "sold" and paid for by some pretty pissed off (understandably) members. It doesn't look good for the club and it's visitors. How often does this go on? At the moment i'm awaiting delivery of something I paid for weeks ago and i'm getting messed about. I don't want to mention names as of yet, but i'm beginning to feel even more worried now after reading some of the threads where people are getting ripped off. I understand it's impossible to check on private sellers. it's left to trust and goodwill. Over the years i've bought and sold items from very decent members wi…

I am having my autobox replaced next week and only have 1st and 2nd gear. I am driving the car "gingerley" but the urge to put my foot down occasionally gets the better of me!! When I do really go for it and eventually stop, there is a smell and some smoke coming from the back of the engine?? Any thoughts? I also need to replace the gearbox oil seal too and it has been suggested that it could be this oil being burnt on my exhaust? Thoughts please! :-)
