General Discussions - 300ZX Related

hi im looking at buying a 1989 300ZX Z32 non turbo for about $4000 AUD the dealer says "has noise in water pump area" and all up probably cost $1000 to mend. A mechanic friend of mine said i would need a new water pump and a new timing belt probably. So anyway i come here to ask you guys, are there any common issues with these cars that i should be looking out for when i take it for a test drive ? Regards Tom

Help - I desperately need a garage to fit new turbo's to my car - its been off the road for 3 months + !!!!!! :headvswal Can anyone recommend a good garage in Yorkshire? or just somewhere reputable - cant drive the car so need to get it transported Really need this doing - tired of just seeing it sat on the drive :cry:

Hi there - I'm new to the board, but have been meaning to sign up since i bought my 300zx :) I bought it about a month ago, everythings been fine until today , I was on my way home , went to turn my lights on, and all I have is full beam. No sidelights, No main beam, just full beam, even when full beam is switched off, its still on, but nothing else (when main beam is on, full beam is on) I also have no rear lights, even when full beam is on. indicators, horn, interior light, ect all work, however dash lights do not work either. Thanks in advance for any help Tony

Can some of you guys have a look at Chunders Datascan log, I checked his ECU codes and it was showing code 34 when I cleared this it came straight back up as soon as the engine was started. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=113058 As you can see from his original post he has swapped quite a bit around but has had no joy:headvswal

At around 3500 revs on a steady throttle the car seems to hesitate and stutter like it's running out of petrol. It's an N/A manual import if that helps.

Just about finished trimming inside from scratch, no templates to follow except pulling off the old tweed and using that! Quite proud :dance: Just have to get the steering wheel done.

I know graphics are like Marmite (think about it) but I have had mine done and I love it. Most people didn't like my spoiler either but we all have individuals tastes which I think is good but feel free to post an honest opinion.

Which one should I get? How much are they and will they fit flush somewhere?

Halfauds do small indicator lights for motorbikes in the shape of arrowheads, they are e marked. they are only very small and unobtrusive and are ideal for the use on my twins front bumper. But can anyone tell me would they be legal on a car rather than a bike Cheers Pete

I need to get teh car round the corner to my mechanic, but it wont start and the gearbox is fooked.

Need to get a new set as mine have had it, have been looking at either a set of hard pipes or silicone ones. Is there any difference in power gains or are they about the same?

From what I can gather the power FC for the Zed isn't available anymore. Where can I get one? Are they any good? What's the cost? What will they do for the car? Thanks peeps. Paul

Been running the car in for two months now. Done over 1500 miles and not seen a single Zed, apart from when I saw my car in the reflection of a shop window. I've been driving around Romford, dagenham, Ilford, Chelmsford, Colchester, Fulhum, Chelsea, Acton, Central London, East London, West London, South and North London. Not a sasauge !!!! Few CC questions. Do early Z32s come with the same CC ECUs than the really late ones with the airbags? Also, does anyone know if the wires are the same from the column on both types? Thanks

new to the Z world, and to this forum really. will be upping the boost shortly, on previous cars iv increased the boost by usung a dawes device (manual boost controller valve thing) on here people use "boost jets" (i thaught thats what you called manual boost controllers, but ive found out they are just mig tips) anyway, do you use boost jets as they are cheaper than daws device? or easier? as if you had daws device youd need to make sure they are dead the same, as 1 turbo could be running 12PSI and the second turbo 16PSI.

I fitted a boost controller on friday and since fitting i have had some boost issues the boost goes to about 0.5 bar and drops slightly then goes to about 1 bar and does the same then goes back up to 1 bar.my set up is as follows apexi induction kit,twin hks ssqs,jd chip,standard injectors,standard tubs and a kakimoto exhaust can anybody help.Oh and the boost controller is a Greedy profec b spec 2.
