Are there any willing volunteers with a wee bit of time spare to have a quick butchers at a car for me? No test drive required or owt, just a quick look at the exterior for general cosmetic condition... i drove a fair few miles to see one the other day that a dealer advertised as mint but when i arrived it looked like it had been dragged through a thornbush then into a cement mixer and tossed into a smoothy maker for a final serving! The dealer address is in Swaythling SQ16 3BJ... if any1 is nearby and can help, please let me know and i will pm the details

After having some problems with vibration in the steering under braking it's been narrowed down to a few problems all sorted but i now need to buy a new pair of discs and pads. My first worry is to stop this disc warping happening again which in the first place was probably due to me not running them in properly! I had Ferodo DS 2500 pads and DBA slotted discs. I have been told that even though the pads are good they have a high metal content and i may have overcooked the discs. As i'm now on a real budget i need to buy somthing a little less expensive and i've seen the 3G discs which are grooved with 20 channels and are £270 including vat. As for…

I always replace my oil filter with a Nissan OEM one. They aren't expensive and being OEM will be good quality...probably made by Coopers anyway! LOL I found out some information today that I am unsure of and want clarification. The OEM filter for our cars (55U) has been discontinued by Nissan so they aren't available. The replacement filter that fits (55Y) is missing the unidirectional valve of the original. I believe unidirectional valves are there to prevent backflow? Apparently, Wix make a filter for the Z32, which is constructed with an anti drain-back valve just like the original 55U. Anyone clarify any of this?

My 300's aircon/blower and front and rear wipers are no longer working.. checked the obvious.. ie fuses in footwell and relays under bonnet. but all seem fine.. kind of obvious that theres a poor connection / dry joint somewhere, but where should i start looking...? was hoping that this may be a common problem and someone out there might give me a clue.. zx's seem to be as regular as clock work in respect to things packing up, anyone had this? cheers Gaz, 91 300zx n/a grimsby.

Im sure my zed has a mind of its own, its given me trouble free driving for 5yrs, its been an absolute pleasure to own, now its up for sale it decides to spit its dummy out. first the clutch decides to start slipping(although i have a new ACT clutch and Fidanza flywheel to be sold with the car) and today someones been to look at the car and now the speedo is playing up! it reckons im doing 160mph when im only doing 30mph thus putting 80miles on a 15mile trip  anyway no matter what explanation i gave the potential buyer understandably walked away(as i think i might have to be fair) leaving me feeling very embarased. oooo im annoyed! si

Hi There, I have posted a couple of posts on here and thanks a lot for responses, I have taken on a TT UK Auto, which has been in the family for a good few years, and has been sitting not used for two years, before she was Sorn, she had a new Auto Box fitted new tubs, and is running slightly higher boost. However a took her for a first proper drive over the weekend with the mrs. Expecting to call the AA out! However firstly my god! what a drive, I have owned a few fast cars, Civic Type R, Porsche 944 turbo, Intergra DC5, but this is a different level, it is simply relentless power. I found that she behaved well being RWD, and despite the Mrs Thinks its…

Who has breakdown recovery insurance? Is it with your current insurer? Does anyone know a good independant recovery policy provider? It seems insurance companies are now conning people into either taking out Recovery at time of renewal or else they won't do it at all. Not suggesting it's another con, but I can't think of another word.

I have had the engine out of the car. installed the usually rods and so on. (z1 engine kit) and gt600r turbos. I have removed the egr, aiv, carbon canister and prvr and plenum/water bypass. The car is reaally rough on idle when we started it for the first time. And I mean realy rough. And there is alot of blue/black smoke comming out of the exhaust. The apexi boost controller showed the injector at 90-92 % at idle?? When I tapped the accelerator it dropped to around 60-70%?? Seemed a bit strange to me?? Tried unpluging some of the electric connectors on some of the coils but there is to much noise from axhaust and engine to hear any diffrence. For some reas…

I have just fitted new zorst and induction kit and now idling at 950  was at 800 before !! Induction made the differance ! Base idle screw wont go in any further ! Could it be that my base timing is out causing a high tickover which I slowed down just after I got the Z and now cos of better breathing has gone back up ??? I know that advancing the timing can give a faster idle !!! Any suggestions chaps ?
