Following on from this thread: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=107704 I thought I'd better get my ass into gear and get some caliper relocating brackets made up. So I did a few measurements, calculations and got to work. A rough block on the left (needs finishing touches), fresh block on the right. Milling one side....... Then the other...... After a few hours work I have these :D Notice the hole drilled to relieve a bit of weight? ;) Stage 3 will be next week, mounting the discs and giving the calipers a lick of paint :) Can't wait :hyper:

Hi all. Right I've finally got the car working again after the rebuild. I had an electrical problem for ages that turned out to be a shorted wire in the fuel pump carrier. And whilst diagnosing this (i.e. lots of blown fuses, etc), I appear to have developed a further problem. I don't know if this was something else giving up the ghost due to electrical shinanigans going on, or something wholely unrelated. I can start the car fine. However, I can now turn the ignition off, remove the key and the engine still carries on running with no key in it! I have to stop it by pulling the ignition coil relay out. Any ideas?

After alot of work my new front is done! I've fitted my original Strosek front bumper and headlight panel. I've also fitted my chromed headlights, which i think make a big improvement! And to finish my new three quarter size number plate :D All in all i'm really happy with how it has turned out!

Guys, i've had the car almost a week now, a few days ago there was a small drip going onto the passenger footwell mat. Its getting a little worse and it feels like a slimey/watery substance, also I often get alot of misting inside the windscreen and its feckin hard to get off, had to take me shirt off and proper rub down on the screen to get it off! The drivers footwell seems ok, a little damp but probably where I cleaned the mats up when I first got the car. The passenger footwell leak seems to be dripping off the foot vent holes that are held in by one screw. Help me out here, thanks guys! James

Some idiot jammed my passenger electric seat in the forward position when valeting the car - now the forward/backward switch doesnt work (silent when i press "forward" and a little clunk when i press "back") and i can only carry passengers with REALLY short legs now!! For some reason the seat lower/raise control still works fine. So !. Is there a simple way to fix this? 2. I presume there isnt a seperate fuse for the raise/lower and forward/back controls. 3. Can I MANUALLY reset the seat where it should be? 4. I have read a thread about reversing the positive/negative lead so I can move the seat but anyone have a step by step for a relative techie…

A lesson about overheating! (long post) One of the pipes behind the engine split a couple of weeks ago - it was duly replaced and i had a couple of other bits and pieces done at the same time. I got the usual advice to cary around soe water with me, park uphill and keep topping it up over the next few days to get rid of the airlocks. Well, I had been driving around without any problems for a few days and only had to top up about 50mls total. Today I was happily pootling down the motorway when I noticed my temperature needle beginning to rise (only a few degrees but it wasn't at its normal resting place bang in the middle) - Aha! i thought - I'll put on the heate…

I need two new rears. Blackcircles.co.uk will do Falken 452 for about £115 each including fitting at a local place. (265/35 ZR 18) They're marked 'reinforced' though. According to their website this means they're suitable for heavier vehicles. I guess the 300's quite a heavy car but not that heavy. Will they be ok on my 300ZX? Any ideas?

Eversince i bought my UK TT, i love the car but the front bumper is yuk, today i made the decision to swap it with my Jap one, after lots of bolts and swearing, its now on the UK, just a few more bolts and straightening up to, then in for a respray. Glad its done. No pics of the bumper on the TT as its now too dark. The jap one will be soon broken, after ive had a few bits.
