Hi all, i've just joined your club. Wehey! I would like to commend ZED WORLD in Tamworth. An excellent service. I received my 300zx a couple of weeks ago and booked it in with the specialists last saturday for a cam belt change. I went to get it the following Monday. They had changed the belt, the thermostrat, the water pump, flushed the coolant system, re-antifreezed, and did a general check for less than £400. Brilliant Unfortunately, I only got 2-3 miles when the car began running roughly with no power. Thankfully, i was able to get hold of Jeff before he left work. The legend came straight out to me, diagnosed the problem within minutes (it was a loom m…

I had the pleasure of driving a near as can be 99 spec SWB slicktop manual TT which was just like driving a brand new car. No squeaks or rattles at all. Now I have owned 5 zeds in my time all LWB all different ages between 89 -93 and all of them rattle and squeak. Do all your lwb's squeak and rattle too? is there a magic cure? or am I too critical?

I know that quite a few people have disabled their HICAS systems cause it can make the car feel a bit floaty through long sweeping bends. I've also read that it can be disabled in a fairly primitive way by just removing the fuse that feeds all the HICAS electrical gubbins. Personally i quite like the idea behind the whole 4 wheel steering system and reckon it does aid slow speed maneuvering and helps keep the car stable during things like lane changing on the motorway. I might be over simplifying things, but could you just fit a relay after the HICAS fuse that's switched from the drivers seat that you could use to switch the HICAS on and off. That way you'd get the b…

my car has an intermittent problem, sometimes it wont start, car just coughs and cought and cought but never starts, then you try it again and and have it coughing for 10 seconds and it just manages to get itself started, but is a real struggle, it only does this sometimes, othertimes it starts straight away. also another intermittent problem is when im driving and i come up to a junction, slow down to about 2 mph, when i press the throttle to pull away the rev needle drops a little the engine goes quiet, hesitates then goes back to normal and pulls away. again this is very intermittent but is making me not wanna drive it anywhere cos im thinking it might not start on the…

When I get my car back, it should be running near the 500bhp mark. Do you think their will be enough air flow through the front bumper. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=612

Over the past few months, have been dismantling, moving, rebuilding and re-roofing my old concrete garage. Pretty much got it all done now, so gave the Zed a wash and put it away until I can get the final bits of tuning done. Also washed and polished my company car while the weather was nice, well it was until the moment I finished.

Hi all, Just browsing Autotrader and came across this. Apparently all it needs is a fuel pump, an alternator, and an MOT. Problem is it's 198 miles away from me, so is there anyone in the area that would be willing to have a gander at it for me? For the price it could be a bargain (although there's no way of knowing if the turbo's are shot since it doesn't start). Thanks for any help. Graham

Right Chaps, I am fitting a new rear perspex strip above the rear lights in about an hour round at my friends house. I need to get hood of some sticky clear glue-like substance - eg Tiger Seal / Silkoflex. Only problem is I cant place an online order and get a delivery within 60 minutes so does anyone have any idea of an equivalent sealant i could pick up from B&Q of Halfrauds etc?

Hi all, Am just replacing my exhaust from the Cat back. The bolts that hold the centre box to the cat are completely corroded in. Have tried plus-gas, heat and brute force but no joy. Have just cut off the back boxes with angle grinder and am now tempted to do the same with centre box and then drill out bolts. Anybody got any ideas before i get this drastic. i was thinking of dropping system from manifold but can see this causing even more problems. Should have gone to exhaust centre:( And JAE coming up as well:(:( cheers

one of the failures on my MOT was a split steering rack gaiter. I'm just wondering if the gaiters on the front and rear are the same? I've been offered a full rear steering rack, so i was gonna put one of the gaiters off of the rear rack onto the front, if it would fit! :slap:

Just took the zed to get the aircon regassed. Was quoted £55 if it is the new gas - or £75 if he had to get the new gas into the old R12 system. Anyway, waited an hour and once finished the aircon was icy-cold. When I went to pay, the bloke had upgraded the connector for free - so now I can get my air-con regassed at any normal garage with the new gas! Result!

This is the spolier on my zed, have just found out that the brake light is no longer working, upon closer checking water has got into it and rusted the led board. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what spolier it is and whether i can source a new brake led bit. Cheers Stu

I have had a look at threads and found loads of autobox issues. I have had my '90 ZX TWIN TURBO a week. Initially the box behaved as it should, but yesterday, on the way to work, it wouldn't engage past 2nd, and overdrive wasn't working. On the way back from work all was fine again (the car had been stood in heavy rain if that makes a difference). The speedo doesn't work - it is still restricted (though it may have been de-restricted and it is faulty). The speedo has been converted to mph. The car is an import obviously. The power light flashes 16 times on start up then goes out, which could just be related to the speedo fault. I am hoping the fact it is intermitten…

  23. hey guys, I have been thinking about replacing my Throttle Position Sensor with a new one from nissan and i was wondering if there were any differences from the 90 version compare to the 96 ones. I have found out from the US forums that the 96 versions looks completely different to the 90 version but i just wanted to know if the sensors where improved in the later models improving throttle levels and what not. I dont think i could add the 96 version into my 89 model but i just thought id ask the question.
