got a day off work today so i thought i'd drive over to Thurnby and visit the bodyshop who did a darn good job of painting and repairing my poorly Z and fitting the bodykit, as i have a new kit all stacked up ready to go. got there and no answer, spoke to a couple of businesses either side (a garage and a car dealership) and they both tell me he's not been to his shop for over a month. one tells me the rumour is he's moved into town and started a new bodyshop. thankfully ive managed to dig out his email so ive emailed him and asked him whats going on. so feeling a little dejected i got into my car and drove to the alloy wheel place down the road to me with the intention…

I've got a Z at last :dance: - I'm not posting pikkies yet as I don't pick her up (the Z that is :D) until Sunday. However, it has (the wife that is...errr, no, that's wrong) original Nissans that have been powder coated black. Nasty. SO first thing I want to do is change 'em. Hi, Just a couple of things I want/need to know. As I'm disputing the quality of work done on my respray, do the garage have a legal obligation to keep my car safe and secure untill it's resolved? When a bodyshop paints a car, after the paint has dried do they normally polish and wax the paint? If parts are missing or broken, do they have a duty to supply new parts or can they just give you secondhand ones? Sure there's more but my mind has gone blank will all this crap :( Vijay

Great News, We had a long chat with John Fuggles (Principle JAE Organizer) on our stand last weekend. and he informed us that 2009 will see a new event...JAE NORTH. This will be a new and separate event at a location TBC in the north west. and it is in NO way an alternative event to the main JAE, just another event by the same organizers to accommodate the Northern car clubs. Our club will have a stand at Both events next year, and when I have more info, such as Location/date etc, I will post up so watch this space. :) Regards Kim

Just wanted to add my comments about last weeks JAE weekend. It was by far the best camping weekend I’ve had with the club to date. The atmosphere was superb and very friendly. I appreciate that the location wasn’t ideal for many members, however, it really was worth the extra miles. The beach location is far better than The East of England showground at Peterborough. Many of our members travelled an awful long way to get there and from the feedback I got before leaving on the Sunday afternoon, everyone thought it was worth it and would definitely be returning in 2009. Hi Guys, I am looking to convert my Jap spec clocks to MPH and I'm confused as to which is the right method of doing it. I have searched endlessly through the forum and get a mixed opinion on the matter. Some say that the convertor boxes that fit to the speedo behind the dash can cause the steering to be too light and also effect the HICAS because the ecu's think the car is going slower than it is. Makes sense I know. Looking at the circuit diagrams this certainly seems the case. Then some folk say that they have fitted the convertor box with no apparent issues. I also know that a resistor can be changed, but I'd rather source a UK cluster or fit a convertor. C…

just noticed the wanted thread for intercooler ducting, and after searching found that most aftermarket bumpers won't allow them to fit - is there anyone who can do i/c ducts for specific aftermarket bumpers? or is this something a half-decent bodyshop can fabricate?

was through picking up some parts from euro jap seen this on my way back to the motorway looked nice from what i saw of it

well eventually after a year and two month since it was wrote off it passed its mot at the third time of asking today and passes its vic check. spent the last 2 days driving to the garage then to get parts then back to the garage then parts and so on and so on but it was all worth it when i got to drive it home tonight knowing that thats it all done. now what will i do next finished one part so may aswell just start the next lol

Ok, i have been reading up on changing the belt via search + can't find any mention of the 'push-pull' tool that is used to setup the tensioner, before checking belt tension, according to workshop manual. Is there a simpler way to tension belt correctly?

If anyone is ever tempted to go here for tyres - beware and dont! I took a wheel in and he took off a V spec tyre and put a H spec on and also damaged the paint on my rim - when I confronted him about it he swore blind it was already damaged and tried to blame it on kerbing. This bloke is a liar. I managed to get my money back and the tyre taken off so I'll have to settle for that - should I report him and if so who is best?

hey all, few more questions im afraid :rolleyes:! had another post with some issues i had with the car.. basically did a check of the ecu as suggested by some people as i am running in "safety boost".. came back with fault code 34.. the dett sensor, have had a search around and this seems to be quite a common problem? i have also been told to get to it you have to take the engine out and having no spare cash to do this i have searched around the forum and seems that it can quite easily be disconected and a new one installed in a different position. i would like to do this but am a bit wary.. sure its a G reg car so maybee the sensor is knackerd.. but maybee its not…
