General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I have started stripping my car, it is quite interesting, but not having a huge amount of knowledge about zeds I have come across a few parts which I am unsure what they are. I have attached pics of two boxs that were behind the rear qtr panels, also what are the three rads infront of the engine for? The one nearest the engine is the normal radiator, but then there is a smiliar sized one infront of that and then a smaller one infront at the front of the car, I presume the front small one is the oil cooler? but what is the middle rad? Can anyone help identify them for me?

Hello. Do any of use have atmospheric "swoosh" dump valves in a twin turbo around a 1993 model? I am looking to install some atmospheric ones to my car but i am not to sure what ones to get, there is RS ones from the USA, but then there is also the DV26 Bailey dump valves, i am not sure what ones to get and was wondering if any of you lads and ladies have any good suggestions and price they should cost? I have just put the engine back in with a manual box and I am not sure if I have a bolt missing. It is at the very bottom of the box bolting (would be 6 o'clock position) it to the engine, it is at least a inch longer than the others, should there be one there or not as there are ones at 5 + 7 o'clock postions?

edit : its ok, sorted now.

Me again I noticed the other day that i'm getting some smoke coming up from the back of the engine drivers side, anyway ive had a look and it seems there a bolt slack, the down pipe to turbo by the 02 sensor, now its the top one you can see by looking down by the brake booster, how the hell do you get on that little bugger, is it better from underneath and do you need a thin wall socket to get it.

Hello Chaps I know theres a link somewhere that tells you how to do this, but i cant find it, so if someone can send me the link or better still tell me the best way to do it, that'd be great. I cant remember which pins you have to put the meter on to get your 0.5/0.45 volts????? Just renewed mine as a matter of course really, now ive got 2000rpm on start up. oh and another thing, just changed the plugs and the ones that came out are a pfr6J, thats the wrong plug isnt it, because ive put in 6B-11b and theres a marked difference in the length of the threaded part of the plug!!!!!!!!! Hi does anyone have any information on the 300zx v6 N/a Camshaft & Cylinder Head diamention, camshaft lift, camshaft duration, Valve lift data and standard power and torque curves are needed for a project i'm doing on a Nissan P35 race car using the 3.0 v6 engine. Hi All Does anyone know anything about the iezura Tensioner Bearings being sold on Ebay? They are described as equal to or exceeding OEM specs- is this to be trusted and has anyone used these products? Prices are tempting.. Any help appreciated. Regards Dave

Having emigrated to Malaysia in April and taken my zed over, decided to get the interior done. The old black leather was beginning to show its age so took it to an interior retrimmer. Seemed to be a good outfit with samples of their work at the premises. All in the job took 3 days. They retrimmed the seats and panels in italian cream leather with black stitching. I`m very impressed with the results and the cost was about £480. Similar job would cost 2-3 times that in the UK.

does anyone have a guide or photos of the det sensor bypass inside the car ecu side.. i have had the resistor for over a week now.. but was going to get a boost controller and gauge.. unfortunately credit crunch has put a stop to that :( cheers

Is there anyother way of getting the bottom pulley off without using a pulley tool.

To my knowledge the erg is a filter box to get rid of exhaust gases or unburnt petrol fumes that go threw a filter and some back to engine and some back to exhaust ,ok if thats right then ok but the first time i had smoke comming out my exhaust i was told to check out the pcv systems .ok it turns out it was my tubs but the point of this thread is are the pcv and the erg one of the same???????? ;)

Dont know whats its called but i bet you dont need it on this over engineered car .its a black box round and has loads of breather/vacume pipes comming of it ans seats behind front bumper under nearside head light

Ive got large hexagonal nuts (:nelson:) that keep the hub/cover on and the spanner is a plastic ring spanner but it doesnt fit. Ive been round all the local places and they dont know where to get these spanners. The nut is 75mm across and the only spanners ive seen are 60mm and 80mm. Any idead where i can get one??

My tension rod bushes were absolutely mullered and the price of new bushes seem to have rocketed, so I searched US Ebay and came up with some rose bearing typr arms, just $49 plus $46 postage to UK, and no import duty ?? Well today the sun was shining and I fitted them. Not as straight forward as I thought they would be due to the FMIC pipework, but still only took a couple of hours. Hopefully they will never need changing again, they also look quite funky as well.
