General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Ive changed the oil and filter a few days ago also put an additive in with the oil which claimed extra power and better mpg. No improvment on power but iam getting more mpg. On £20 of petrol i usually get 40-50 miles depending on the way i drive, but after the oil change iam getting over 60 miles to £20 of petrol. I know petrol has come down a bit but iam still getting mpg well chuffed.

Can some one tell me please as to why when I look at the near side of a 300zx 2+2 Z32 the petrol filler flap is in front of the rear wheel and passenger door whilst others are 300zx's are to the rear of the rear wheel?? :bow::bow:

Some of you may or may not know i took my Zed on a Student Rally to croatia and back! Made it home after fuel pump wiring melted but is in a bad way! Will be going into Zed world after being off the road for 6weeks for - New Turbos - Clutch - Fuel Pump - Brake Pads - Split Fuel Hoses - Idle Control Valve - Major Fuel Leak (2liters in about 5hours) Been getting to work and Uni on my Skates and getting fed up of the cold weather! Cant wait to have it back :) Should be before the end of the month!! Reason for turbos blowing was Boost controller lead came out thus it was useless and the boost tap was wide open (as EBC would reduce boost) so was hitt…

Hello. Due to being at work i cannot measure the height of my car from the ground. Anyways i was wondering what is the height of the front bumper from the ground on a standard 300zx. I am asking this as im getting a new custom front bumper and it is apparently 1 inch lower than a standard one. Cracked the one i have as it is quite low. Instead of just a remould thought i would rather get a new bumper.

im losing my heated seats. . . Nooooooo Because the new car is a jap i either lose the heated seats or the folding mirror so at the minute iv lost my heated seats. Anyone know how easy it would be to get them back from an auto spark?

Thinking of selling my 1994/5 j/import whats the price i should be asking, or should i do an engine change ,not worried about the cost of conversion as my car is tip top shape confused so am i as what to do

Eventually got the time to put my new Gewalt 18" split rims on, ordered 25mm hubsentric spacers via Driftworks ( cheers Funkysi) and a new set of tyres. The backs will on by the weekend. They look the nuts. Just got to spray up the front end to match.

well im finishing work early tomorrow and im gonna start stripping the front down and get the old crossmember out, hopefully get the new one on sat and start to get get it into place wish me luck people lol

ok, I may have imagined this, but Im sure I've seen somebody post a link on here a couple of times now to do with brake dimensions for different vehicles. I think it was something like different vehicle Disc dimensions, offsets, calipers dimensions...etc ?? I've never followed the link previously, and it might not be what Im looking for, but I cant find it now.....anyone got any ideas ?

im trying to take out engine for the tubs to be done with help of people on here witch has been great but im now stuck, lwb man tt the cars on ramps and ive done a aerch but cant find an idiot guide to take out the gearbox because ive can get to 6 of the eight bolts needed to remove but can i get to the top two ,No i can just about touch them theres no way i can get in there any clues please and how dose it come away from the engine?

This is a bit of a long story -- but i need to get all the details out to get an accurate diagnosis -- part one -- after sitting for six months my car 1990 Z32 2+2 has a bit of steering wheel chatter when braking lightly -- not with firm braking -- have the 3K brembo big brake kit -- part two -- after driving quite fast (45 mph) threw water i did not see on the road the power steering seemed to disappear -- drove like a tank (like when your steering knuckle is bad) -- went to local mechanic -- i was suspecting the speed sensitive connector on the rack might be loose after the impact with the water -- went to a local mechanic -- drove it into the bay -- I play with the con…

Looking to get a uprated oil cooler. Does anyone have any recommendations at all? Also do these get sold as kits? ie cooler with braided oil lines etc. Is there also any places that you would recommend that I can get these from. I did a search on here and see that someone has used Mocal 25 row x 235 matrix oil cooler,+ mocal thermostatic flow valve set up with Braided pipes. Would this be a suitable replacement? I other thing, my car is a Jap Import what size connections would be used? Thanks Ant

hi all my passenger seat belt is pulled out at max and it wont return back becouse its fully out can this be fixed? or do i have to get new belts etc thanks in advance :bow:

Well .... Went up to Zedworld today with a HID set and to get the MOT. MOT passed first time. Went back to Jeff's and he strarted on the HID conversion for the FOGLIGHTS .... already got HIDs on dipped beam. Took Jeff about an hour and then wow....blinding flash of light and seeing stars in my eyes for the next five minutes. Turn all the workshop lights out to align them and they look effing amazing with the dipped HIDs on.... Like searchlights or aircraft landing lights Anyone thinking of doing the same I can't recommend it highly enough the light they throw out in stunning Thanks Jeff

2 nuts to go ive cracked the the bottom two bolts left them in for now but how on earth do you get to the top two bolts on the gearbox i can just about touch them let alone put a 14 m socket on them the other 4 are of it the two top bolts that hold the gearbox to the engine 1990 lwb man tt .any tricks

Hi, I am still suffering from some sort of vibration underneath and it is a case of illiminating thisngs as I go. I ince read that you can change the 2 piece prop shaft for a single. Has any one done that, and is it smoother?

Ineed i think buy looking at it to undo the steering im taking the engine out due to replace tubs on lwb man 1990.do i leave all the pipes and stering asembly to the subframe but where do i undo the steering as it comes down the shaft or at the bottom and do i need to drop subframe and if so how much and where? cheers chaps . :D
