Well ....

Went up to Zedworld today with a HID set and to get the MOT. MOT passed first time. Went back to Jeff's and he strarted on the HID conversion for the FOGLIGHTS .... already got HIDs on dipped beam.

Took Jeff about an hour and then wow....blinding flash of light and seeing stars in my eyes for the next five minutes. Turn all the workshop lights out to align them and they look effing amazing with the dipped HIDs on.... Like searchlights or aircraft landing lights

Anyone thinking of doing the same I can't recommend it highly enough the light they throw out in stunning

Thanks Jeff

Seen HID equipped fogs on the zed before and I agree they dont half light up the road, great for a bit of nighttime country driving.

I dont have any fogs though, so no good for me. Just HID Dipped and relocated LED sidelights.

Hi Si

No I've got 'Blue' ones that look pure white with the dip beam and they show off nicely

Jeff mentioned LED sidelights today.... I'll have a think about that

Hope you're keeping well

Tony

Hi Tony,

Am glad you're chuffed with your HIDs! It really is one of the most sensible upgrades you can make to any Zed.

Couple of things -

1. If you want colour matched (to your 6000K HIDS that is) LED side-lights then let me know as I stock them (see: BLB014 on http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/bulbs.php)

2. Because of the inherent design of fog lights (ie, they cast light wide but not far) you may find they are next to useless in foggy conditions if equipped with HID bulbs. Dip beam HIDs will project straight into the fog and cause a "white wall" just ahead of the car due to the frequency and brightness of the light. HID equipped fog lights will just exacerbate this. This is not critisize, just a word of caution (from experience).

Other than the above - good luck with the conversion! :)

I got mine from Dan too, absolutely superb bit of kit and as always superb service to match :)
