Came up the stairs few days ago to notice the ceiling all brownish and bubbly. Ah! must be a leek, up i go in the loft to find a sodden pile of loft insulation under a water pipe. looking further i find the hole in the pipe. i put one of our dogs metal bowls under it to catch any further drops. a few days later i check it for any leak and funnily enough there is no leakage in the bowl. Never mind. Yesterday i go up to check it and as i touch the bowl "POW"!! F**K ME 240 volts straight through my fingers!!. To cut the story short, i get one of my many MultiMeters i have and go up and test the bowl ... 240V...the plaster board ceiling... 230V I jump Downstairs and test the …

I need some help finding a replacement for a 9v relay in my oven as it's sticking. I've gone to the local electronics shop but they only sell 6 or 12v. I've contacted the manufacture who tell me it's no longer made and I need to find an alternative. The datasheet is here https://www.digchip.com/datasheets/parts...-F-pdf.php Could I use these ones although they are rated at 0.36w? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10Pcs-JQC-3FF-...SwHIlZ1b1J

It must be a common fault with these Mercedes wheels, after a few years they look terrible. I was lucky enough to borrow these wheels just so I had something to use just for drive shuffling, that was better than bricks but my wheels that came off were just the same . The lacquer peels off and this is what results, even the centre caps have aged badly. And inside, mainly brake dust/dirt. They've been at the powder coaters a week, this now the inside - beautiful. Now I know these are not Z related but wheels are wheels and I'm trying to show what can be done.

As some of you may know I've been training for the last few months for my first Half Marathon, it's been touch and go whether I would be able to participate, colds, work, injuries and life in general have all taken their toll but I'm geared up and ready to go, on Sunday. Only problem is I've been slack with the fund raising. I'm running for the Local Hospital Charity, for Poole (Dorset) Hospital. It would be really appreciated if you guys would donate even a quid to this good cause and make it all worth while. Donations are easy by following the link below, you can even donate by PayPal. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stephen-crowhurst Thanks again for you…

Hi I've just received a letter from HSBC telling me that they're going to close my business account within the next two months. No explanation and a rather aggressive letter leaving me felling like I've been caught doing something wrong and that they don't want to be associated with me. I've yet to call them over the matter. Anyone else experienced something like this? I've banked with HSBC for as long as I can remember maybe 25 years, I'm sure they used to be called Midlands back in the day, I have personal accounts with them, ISAs, credit card and a small loan all of which I will be closing and taking my money else where. Can anyone also recommend a good bank for …

Never get this "thing" in car parks for parking so close, had a nice evening walk down the beach the other night, the car park was practically empty when I got there as the daytime sunbathers had gone back to their hotels. So what do I find when I return ? a small oink of a car parked virtually door handle to door handle next to our`s ... WTF beggars belief it really does ?? Jeff

So this morning had my first direct experience at an IPO station (Inspecção Périodica Obrigatória), which is the same as the UK MOT stations. What a great system, efficient, transparent and only 30 euro Four cars been done at the same time on a drive through system, the level of checking was impressive as was the testers careful care of the cars. Bang up to date with shaker plates, linked computers, cctv, emission testing done and displayed on big screens and the testers had mics on taking to the office, the paperwork is done instantly and ready to collect with the car on the way out. Impressed !! Oh and yes a pass Jeff

Putting my rebuild on hold for a month and a bit as the work for my garage gets under way. Working out costs and building regulations but plan is to take out approx. 130ft of hedge, replace that with a nice new ranch board style fence then build a 22ft by 20ft zed garage at the back of the garden. Trying to get it as wide as possible up to the fence but really would like to skip on the fence at the back and just build the garage from breeze block unto the edge of the garden. The back end of the garden only measures about 18ft but the hedges are nearly 5ft wide at the back so we will be gaining another 5ft after they are gone. Here's a nice pic fr…

This fine vessel was home for me, my wife and daughter for the last week. :boat: We spent our time traveling a small part of our fine British Waterways in glorious weather. Some of the landscape and views are stunning, and virtually inaccessible any other way, apart from aviation that is. (ideal if hot air ballooning for example) It is a bit of a brutal detachment from modern living mind, what with limited services such as WiFi, Broadband, etc' etc'. (A bit of a blessing if I was honest)

So....had the Pathie in for a service last June. The Head Mechanic came out to commend me on having such a clean and tidy car. That he and the Sales Manager had had a good look around it and were extremely impressed, so much so, that the Sales Manager offered me a deal I couldn't really refuse. The garage owners own personal car, that then goes as the demonstration model. 11k kms, Top Spec model in a seven speed CVT, has everything from lane assist, panoramic glass roof, Sat-Nav, cream leather heated seats etc, over €10k off the new price with another decent trade-in offer on top. Needless to say Jo is delighted, as it's going to be her car and I'll take her 09 Outlander …
