I'm just fnishing off my reserach on the history of the Skyline - right back to the Tachikawa Aircraft Company who made the Zero fighter airrcaft. ....... which is where the "Z" came from for the later production cars That explains some of the kamikaze driving I've seen from you lot.  ;) - right. Time for my cocoa and medication, and I'm off to bed. :D

Auto box kick downs, Quick tip for guys with auto boxes that may seem to have lost there sparkle on kick down or seem to be a bit reluctant to select a lower gear when exiting an island around town etc. The kick down and the lower gear selection is operated by a micro switch on the accelerator, the plate that activates this is very thin and easily bent, it seems of late I have come across many zeds with this plate bent down too low often as a result of cables from alarms etc. getting caught up between the two or if the drivers foot slips too high up the pedal. The result is the kick down switch is only activated when the accelerator is mashed in to the car…

I really cant be bothered to start working this one out so Im asking if anyone else knows the answer cos it must be something simple. When I right click on a pic on a webpage and choose "save picture as" it used to let me save in whatever format the picture was which is usually Gif or JPEG. But now it will only let me save as Bitmaps. This is no good for animated gif's etc because saving them as a bitmap just saves them as a static pic. Paul

Got out of the house today and thought I'd strip the bits of the plenum I've bought to polish up. I presume the 2 valves in this picture are the EGR valve and the Idle Control Valve? I will remove/blank off the EGR when fitting the plenum, has anyone got any tips on this? Can I use the gasket I have as a template to make a blanking plate? Or is there a better way? I thought I'd take the EGR valve to bits, as you do ;) And discovered that it was stuck open - see pic. The tiny spring had broken - the bottom hook was snapped. It looks v weak for such a PITA of an item to replace  Typical Nissan. Stu (SMW1) - were there any symptoms of this whe…
