Just got back from Thor. Great day and excellent weather - just a bit low on Zeds :rolleyes: Of the original "oversubscribed" list, we only had 2 cars turn up! (Two others came along to take a look and were persuaded to have a go - Kanima and Scubie - great to meet you fellas! :) ) Ex zed owners Scoops and AdamR were also there to swell (lol, almost double) the numbers! Got a Mac Compact 220 today, 8 inch sub with built in amp, its tiny and the sound is awsome. Would say get it to anyone after a good sub thats got a deep 10" sound to it and takes up very little room. :dance: :dance:

Anyone know what the fine is for not having road tax? Problem I got is that the a-hole I bought the zed off didnt send the log book off :xxx: :mac1: , so it aint registered to me yet. Wondered why I didnt get the tax reminder. So goes down to get my tax on the 1st with my hard earned cash and told I cant get it and to fill out a form to obtain the reg doc first. Phoned the DVLA and they tell me it will take 4 to 6 weeks and in the meantime, to take the car off the road! Cant do that really as its me daily drive to work. Dont want to have to buy another car just for the sake of buying tax, so think it will be cheaper to risk the fine rather buy another car. Anyo…

you would think that giving care and attention and spending alot of money on your pride and joy would result in hours of trouble free driving!!! This is not my case in the two cars that ive took pride in owning have given me more crap than a 50 quid banger thats bearly had any oil tyre tread, coolant or a rust free pannel! is it just my luck???????????????????????????? :cry:

Has it been reliable? Mine has so far. Failed clutch slave cylinder and not tightening the battery terminals properly have been my only non-starts (oh, and snow!!) And I use it every day and have put 16,000 miles on it in a year!!!!

Hi all, I was hoping for a little help on Tuesday 7th or Wednesday 8th in the evening. I've managed to find a '90 Zed with an owner who's willing to swap for my Focus. Mine's worth 6k+ and his is up for 5,500 ono so we're doing each other a favour it seems. Now here's the thing, I'm REALLY paranoid at picking up a bad one, and I would have no idea whether it was a good or bad one. I can say I've been to view and drive 3 now, and each one has been for 5k+ and each one has been in anything but good condition. I saw an old mate recently and he told me he'd invented a 'one handed driving bucket'. Apparently, it's a lashed up device made from a cut down lemonade bottle, some string, a bread bag and other bits and bobs. It enables him to smoke as he's driving on the motorway and still keep one hand on the steering wheel. He works as a rep, drives a new shape Laguna and covers an area around London and as far north as Newark i think. Keep your eyes open for him on the roads - he says he gets funny looks from other motorists when they see him using it!
