Just been thinking, when I insured my car I had to tell them I had no alarm cos I'm missing the fitting certificate for my cat1 that is fitted. cost about £80 more for the insurance.. (hyperformance) Friend who just got a boxster didnt bother renewing the tracker subscription cos the insurance company (adrian flux) said it made bugger all difference to the cost of the policy!!!! Cos with a tracker it's pretty much impossible to get away with the car! I'm more than a bit surprised that with all the hype around approved alarms and gizmo's like trackers why it doesnt really make much of a dent in policy prices!!! Anybody else have similar or opposite experienc…

(Well, is it ripping my girlfriend off to be specific...) Is it possible to inspect engine internals without dismantling the engine? This garage reckon one of the cylinders is scored, but it turns out they haven't taken the engine to bits at all- I'd have thought you at least have to remove the head. Before she put it in to a garage, everyone I spoke to said it would be probably valve stem oil seals (puff of smoke on start-up, generally going through oil about 1L a month). What do you reckon? …

Does the fun never stop? :hyper: Ok so I have a couple of questions for you guys after another 100 Miles or so tonight. 1. What brake upgrade in your opinion is best for the car? I would feel a lot better if I had some beter brakes to slow me down ;) 2. Where do you guys buy your tyres from for the standard alloys? :x: 3. How do you stop that goddamn squeaking sound coming from the back  4. My local Motormania is doing a great deal on a set of 17" Alloys with tyres. What size range is it best to keep. What I mean is I know the rears are wider than the fronts as standard, if these 17" wheels are the same diameter all round will t…

Youre sat at a road junction waiting to turn out of work and a little 10 year old lad stops at the side of the road and says Wow! Then he walks across in front of you and says "Nice car Mate!". Poor little fella even stood there and waited for me to turn right and boot it off so he could hear it go!!! Its good to know there are some appreciative youngsters out there!!! Future Z owner???? Nick

Installed a new cam belt and tensioner yesterday and will be trying it tonight. If it wasn't the belt that's slipped then it's likely the engine is fooked  So which do you think it is? LOL
