General Discussions - Non 300ZX

Hi guys, My current PC is on it's last legs and I've been scouring the internet (and magazines) for the latest, greatest components. I think I've settled on the following spec but would like to ask your opinion on what you would choose and why. Bear in mind that I'm not made of money and I want something that I don't need to upgrade for another two years or so. This is what I'm currently looking to build: AMD 64 3400+ CPU (socket 754) ASUS K8V SE Deluxe motherboard with WiFi and S-ATA 1Gb Geil RAM (2x 512Mb DDR3200 400MHz) ATi X800XT 256Mb Grafix card (or the Pro version and "modding" it to 16 pipes) 2x 160Mb S-ATA HDD's Nebula Digi TV (PCI) - freevi…

Here's a thought..... I know a guy who does a lot of studio photography for the BIG motoring mags. He's a nice guy and he takes top pics. If enough people were interested we could book him and his studio for a day (I think it's a few hundred quid all in) and get some seriously good pictures taken of our cars. It's amazing how much better pro-pics look compared to home made ones. I'm not sure how many we could get shot in a day.... about ten or maybe a couple more if we were super-organised. Well???!!!! What can I say???? Watched this last night, .............. What a load of b****cks!!!!!!!!! Yeah, OK, some funny one liners, but on the whole, utter tosh! Some nice blood splats as well, but the storyline, was way off, imho, and the acting???? You could just see some well known British actors who would have fitted the roles perfectly, but would have, if not DID, turn this one down. Hi Newbie here, I've like the 300 since I played Cisco Heat as a boy and have a few questions... I have heard that the turbos only last 10,000 mile is this true? I have £3,000, is that enough to buy one? I saw MAC 1s in Max Power and it said you could buy it for £5,000, MAC will you take £3k? How many spark plugs do they need? Did they do a diesel version because petrol is really expensive? Thanks Peter

:cry: Well, looks like I’m not gonna get my Z back until the end of October now after the head gasket problem so my mate has lent me his Mini to get around in. Totally different driving experience to the Z, it’s only got 62Bhp, is front wheel drive, no 4 wheel steering and has a strange pulley outey type thing know as a choke!! This help’s it start in the morning apparently!! :tongue: The other annoying thing is you don’t get other Z drivers waving at you or flashing their lights as you pass in the opposite direction, instead it’s now all the Mini clan out there!! “I’m not a Mini Lover!!!”. Might have to start giving them all the finger instead!. I’m so pissed off …

Bit of a wierd one this and totally not car related. My parents have a bakery and are looking to do a bit of a refit and part of the refit is to put some stainless sheeting on parts of the wall where a lot of heat travels. How many times do you hear people raving about the cons of driving aids. "Ooh I prefer the raw driving of TVRs etc, no ABS to interfere, blah blah..." Get over yourself! :slap: I am no Michael Schumacher and I'm sure most people arent :rolleyes: Why do people try to brag by complaining about driving aids? It must be cool to not need driving aids. Well a last my motor is coming together and I must say some of my new bits are just so sexy. I'll post some pics tomorrow. I've got to say though that the Apexi Dump Valve kit I got of Chris at Getgreddy is the Dogs. It looks fab and was a doddle to fit. I'm so glag I didn't have the HKS ones now. This Apexi kit is made for the 300 and has everything with it and you'd have to be a complete dumb asse not to be able to fit it. It took about 20 mins all in. They fit just perfect at either side of my Mocal oil cooler which is set of by my custom ally rad.
