Hi Been lurking for a while since getting my NA. Finally got around to saying hello. I had an S13 about 15 years ago and always wanted a Z32. They were out of my price range back then but now that I've been gently persuaded to give up motorcycling, I have a bit of spare cash. She's a 92 I think, although the V5 says 93 (I say that because she has alloy calipers, which I read somewhere were phased out in 1992). She needs a bit of work - centre bearing's wobbly and the diff (I think) is a bit noisy. But she goes well and has zero rust. I'm off to ZedWorld at the end of the month to find out what needs to be done to sort out the mechanicals. Looking…

Hey guys :D Today I have got myself a lovely 300zx. The owner has had it for 4 years and only drove it 4 times, i know this as he lives a few doors up from me. I am really excited as its my project car. Needs a few things like the rear spoiler has got rot in and the rear shocks need doing at the back. The owner before me did not care much for it and I felt sanded seeing such a beautiful car go to wast. Only pic atm

Hello all, Those of you who frequent the 350z-UK site might recognise me from there as I'm a regular :) I'm flirting with the idea of getting a 300ZX to keep my 350Z company on the driveway, to have as a 'hobby' car, and also to have a bit of fun with on track (note the emphasis is on fun). I know they're not the most sensible track car cost wise but I'd find it hard to get excited by an MX-5 shed or similar and also I'm a bit "gay for Nissan" (or so my friends eloquently put it!). I've seen the following on GumTree which has caught my eye which has obviously been owned by a forum member in the past as you can see the sticker in the window: http://www.gumtr…

Any way had a look and bit confused about regulations on having a cat fitted or not . Its a 1994 n/a import exhaust rusted so do i need cats on this age or not to pass mot. Thanks in advance Jenko

Hi guys as a new 300zx owner (wanted one for many years and finally got round to getting a project to play with!) i am still getting used to all the things i need to keep an eye on! here are just a few of the things i have noticed: hesitation and stutter under take off from a standstill with hard acceleration (doesnt happen if you're gentle or from a rolling start) oil pressure seems to fluctuate sometimes with no nasty sounds of bad oil circulation strange hiss noise from the boot just after starting up as if something is pressurising? lasts about 2 seconds if anyone has some pointers for these things i would appreciate it a lot - wouldnt wa…

Hi I am thinking of buying a Nissan 300zx Z31 which apparently has failed the MOT because of excessive corrosion to the back axle bushes - any idea how easy it is to replace this, what is it like to get parts for the 300ZX, etc I had a 280ZX and eventuall had to let it go as the rust bug had got hold and parts were not that cheap - any advice welcome.

Hi All, Steve here! Bought a 300zx TT in 2010, joining the club a short time after. confess to not having come on board earlier, but seeing the sort of information and disscussions going on I wish I had!. She is in Black and a manual, it came with a number of upgrades, including Bailey dump valves, HKS filter, and mongoose straight through stainless exhaust (sounds great, not boomy) The model is a 91 import which had a good history and paperwork covering various extensive works and upgrades, but having been plagued by a number of runing issues, have not used the car much, although still manitained servicing at the relative intervals. Was hoping to get…

Hi everyone glad to have found this forum . I have a short wheel base 300zx normaly aspirated, had it for about 14 years 10 of those it's been sitting on the drive I'm now wanting to get it up and going again, I've run it on the drive every few months and all seems well I'm just really concerned about the timing belt . The car has done about 70000 so ,not too worn but the age scares me So I'm looking for someone who can help me renew it (I'm not a mechanic but I'm not afraid to get stuck in if I'm with some one who know how to do these things ) also happy to help others who help me or someone to do the whole job So please if your near by or know some one please …

Hi ive got a red fairlady 300zx that I have had for 2 years now and do love her to bits, yes she was also on ebay, but only just this min took it off, have decided to keep her, she really is a great car and although my situation needs a child friendly car with large boot hence why I was selling in the first place, I just couldn't bare it, and decided that I have still not grown up, nor am I sensible, so she has to stay no matter how heavy my right foot is :o) Sorry forgot to mention my Name is Karen also known with american cars as Red Angel :o)

Hello everyone! I stumbled across your forum after searching for some tech things for my ZX, took a look, and decided to register. So now I should probably introduce myself. I'm a student from Slovenia at the end of my first year of owning my second car, a 1994 300ZX Turbo, (almost) fully restored by it's previous owner. Now I'm slowly working away on various minor gremlins and enjoying the car. I would like to say that I hope to contribute to this forum in some meaningful fashion, but my lack of mechanical skills will probably put me in the role of the newb who constantly asks silly questions about blinker fluid. I'm more of an enthusiastic driver than a mecha…

Having owned my 300 for a couple of years now, I thought I'd better make the union official and join the club! It's a manual 300 n/a (n/a unfortunately - I didn't look at the advert properly, drove 350 miles to see it and still didn't notice till I took it for a test drive! Trouble is I'd already fallen in love so had to have it - plus my poor pug 306 would not have made the return journey!!) I had a 200sx for a few years and alway loved it and was looking for another. They are so hard to find, so I ended up "just checking" the 300 ads and that was that. I use mine as an every day car and regularly travel to Newcastle and Coventry from Cornwall. Only mods are HID…

Hi all, my name is Steve and I am currently NOT the owner of a 300zx!!!! I will be buying one during the summer but thought it would be a good idea to get started on finding a good un. I have been interested in 300Zx's for ages now and nearly bought one in 2004-5 but ended up with a VX220 instead. Many cars later I have decided its time for a ZX but I am very fussy. If a car rattles then its in the garage being sorted. This is what I would like, could anyone tell me how hard this could be: Preferably in pearl white, black or yellow (dodgy colour I know), possibly gun metal grey Targa Top Twin Turbo 2+2 Slightly modified, exhaust, BOV, splitters maybe n…

Hey all. I'm a nasty horrible person that wants to buy a 300zx and chop it up :( basically, I'm attempting to rwd my civic, I looked at honda engines but most rotate the wrong way and the s2k has nearly a 10" shorter wheelbase than the EK hatch so that would mean an expensive custom propshaft and fabbing 10" of trans tunnel plus i want a turbo so thats more expense right there - so i started looking around at other cars with a similar wheelbase and the 300zx is less than 2" difference, nearlt the same track width, has plenty of power, turbos as standard and still has japanese reliability it's a bit of a crazy project, but I dont fancy spending thousands of poun…
