i will tell yo exactly what we did.... My software and cable work on my car- vai0s software and cable works on my car- However... My software and cable doesnt work on vai0s car My software doesnt work on my mates series 2 Jap TT As vai0s car is also a series 2 is this just co-incidence?

Tried cleaning throttle bodies and resetting TPS,base idle and reconnecting IAV to cure the problem Still same problem as mentioned above The cleaning of throttle bodies have really made a good impact on making the idle smoother however ive heard when reconnecting the IAV the revs should rise from 750 on base to 800 with IAV-It only seems to rise to 790-800. Ive been using datascan to set TPS-Is this right or should i use a multimeter. TPS registers .44v at rest and goes to 4.04v when pedal down by the way. Im getting really confused now because out on the open road its boosting/kicking downcorrectly and nicelybut its almost as if i dont have kickdown at lower speeds as well as only boosting to 0.5bar

Its a race for him! I spose your only defence is that you have a more powerfull car and was pulling away normally with no intention of racing a 1.1! I would hope the copper who caught you would realise that....i hope so anyway.

I have to agree with you mate,bird i amire you as well BUT it now must be the time to get the Z sorted properly once and for all. I know you have said you cant afford to take it to a specialist but if you carry on running the car in its current stasus you will only end up throwing more money on 'fix it quick' jobs. It looks like to me the engine has serious setting up issues and needs a good checkover with theproblems resolved-at least you will know whats working and whats not and can replace the parts.It seems so far yo have probably replaced parts that didnt need changing as the car isnt running the way it is you will always end up a multitude of problems which changing parts that dont need changing wont affect the way it is.With the timing and tps issues you have the car will NEVER run the way it should and wil just cause more harm than good in the long run. Sorry to be so negative but its my honest opinion. All the best

Well i suppose he is at fault for admitting it. :( I suppose he thought they had evidence so thought pleading guilty would reduce the fine/points Street racing has a miniumm of 12 month ban now when he thought he would only get points/fine like careless driving.

But hes legal advice told him to plead guilty even tho theyhad no evidence.

I must admit i do accelerate away from lights fairly swiftly but only because the car is capable of a swift pick up with no effort from the engine. Does that mean im racing as i pull away quickly?

I totally agree with you...im not a street racer...just trying to help out a mate. What i cant get how can they prosecute without evidence Can they prosecute on just 'pleading guilty' I guess they can

Cheers bud. I didnt know how long it take for carb cleaner to clear but a good drive should sort it. Than i will reset the TPS and idle. Its running ok at the moment its just i want to do the lot in one go so i know its done for another 12 months

Yes but im sure the garage have a duty when fitting the engine that it is installed with correct timing?

The 'Bridge Run' is a reknowed place in our area for playing Gran Turismo So i guess all they need is to see two cars going up there side by side for it to be 'racing'

He knows who the other guy was-just he dont want to grass him up Aparently if two coppers see you acceerating against another car thats 'racing' They only need the verbal evidence or video to nick you now-thats the new law1

Im going to have a stab at cleaning the bodies and IAV and resetting my TPS and base idle. Ive already set my base idle and TPS but to do a 'proper' job i want to clean the TB and IAV and i wil reset the idle and TPS again afterward My question is when ive cleaned the TB's and IAV should i leave the TPS and Base idle alone for a while? as i ve heard the cleaning process may give a higher idle for a while? Youre right about the TPS i didnt notice the TPS value was the same on both shots. I thought Closed TPS should be on at idle?(Red square bottom left of shot) Airflow looks a bit down on mine-dont know how much difference that makes (ive got K&N Induction)
