  5. Ppl, Can i splice in another OBD port on to the dash loom, this may sound like a strange requet but i have data scan and i'm looking at some gadgets that require an OBD port to work, now i have 2 more OBD ports and wondered if there would interferance(sp) from one port to the another? Cheers Neil

  8. :nono: :nono: :slap: :D
  9. Got poppers mate, like you was going for a hidden switch, and maybe the drivers side on remote as well, was also thinking about an emergency charge point, incase of flat batt. take it you have a 2 way swich then?? or am i reading it wrong??? when you push the rocker(?) switch 1 way the bonnet opens and push it the other way and the door opens?? with it being connected direct to the batt, you have no prob's with security, and the switch is always live, just the doors are locked?? where abouts inside the door did you mount the solinoid?? and did you mount the popper on the car or the door? and where abouts. Cheers Paul. Neil
  10. Sarah, it a hot car competition not a hot chick competition I believe it is time for another Miss Z competition?..... and you have my vote already ;) Neil P.S. have you heard from John about team concept?? ??
  11. Not using it from a remote, just a button on the car. so i'll haveto be standing next to the car when the door opens Neil
  12. Right ppl, managed to get myself a popper set for the Zed, however putting it together and i think i may have gone wrong somewhere, the kit works... i.e you press the buton and the solonoid energizes and will pull the catch (the kit is not yet fitted) but i cant seam to see how the lock catch will return to it's normal position, ie the car door not swinging open. there is a compression spring with the kit, but i cant see how that will help, i thought i would need a pull spring (it's proper name illudes me at the moment) so that the catch will return to it's normall position when the soloinoid is not energised or does the castch already have a spring to move it to it's normal possition of closed. Also i'm looking for a power source that only has 12V on it when the doors are unlocked... if it exsists. the only reason i ask is because i only want the solonid to work when the button is pressed when the doors are unlocked. or maybe a switched negative???? again when the doors are unlocked????? Any help would be greatly recieved Neil
  13. take it you have nothing left then? Did you sell the front bumper?? neil

  15. thaths the HICAS solonoid control unit thingy youhave the power steering pot then the valve for the HICAS i assume that MAC has had the whole HICAs system remove therefore making the valve unit redundant. HTH Neil
  16. So does anybody know what the cranking power is??

  18. Looking to get a new batt for the old girl... the one i have doesnt look to be the right size, had a look in my local motor factors and surprise surprise niothing listed, but they did have a 600amp 60 ah batt, is this one the right power for the car? or is it a bit over kill? or under powered?? Cheers Neil

Also took her out the other night for a quick blast and the BOV's wernt BOVing  Any suggestions?? havent touched anything, so they have the same settings, the car boosted fine, all the way round to nearly the top of the standard gauge when accelerating!!! Cheers Neil
  20. ou'll very very luckly if you dont have to spend money on it, as been said it's been laid up for a long time things WILL be wrong with it. You have to ask your self why it was laid up and why for so long??? Good luck though. The only rewason i've spent what i have is i want it how i want it before it goes back on the road. Neil
  21. These arre ricerockets ones, he's a trader here, have a look in the traders secton, on his section. they look ok, not sure of the quality though, @ £290/£210 you have to wonder. Was thinking about it my self, but at a later date, i have other priorities at the moment. if you do go ahead, let me know how it goes. Neil
  22. Hope it all works out for you bud, i bought one that was laided uo for about 2 years, it was a major rebuild project, but last night in the dead of night, i fired her up and took her for a spin.................... wooohooooooo, she's fast, still gives me a smile, even though i still have a load of bixes in the car of interior bits and bobs. only a little run, about 1 mile round trip, loved all of the 6 mins i was out lol. only reason i waited was i have front bumper, and she needs a respray. I paid £1000 for mine but i took her for a little drive and every thinkg was fine, and have spent another £2600 on her so far, but i have bought bling, paint for the respray and an alarm for that, prob need to spend another £1000 for the front bumper and skirts, then labour for the spray. Then she goes back on the road, after that i cabn can do the little bits that i want. Neil
