  1. Hi all, I am venturing under the z tomorrow to see if I can find a reason for my clutch riding (sticky linkage perhaps) before I commit to a clutch change. I wondered if anyone had any top tips of places to check? Cheers Rob
  2. Hi Guys, Looking for a z expert in the Manchester area for service and cambelt change. Can anyone recommend someone or themselves? Cheers Rob.
  3. Hi All, Anyone know the weight of a standard 16" wheel and tyre? I am looking at couriering some. Thanks Rob
  4. Does anyone waxoil their Z regularly and have any related tips, perhaps where not to spray / how to ensure you reach problem areas?
  5. exhaust off, heat shield off, bearing carrier bolts x 2, x6 allen bolts at rear then slide out prop from gearbox. Be prepared for exhaust bolts that may shear at connection to header pipes. Allign one piece with dial test indicator or be prepared to go back under and turn shaft 90 degrees until you remove any vibration you encounter on the road. My one piece was a transition fit into the small lipped cup that remained on the diff after removing the original, this and limited access to the diff/drive shaft securing bolts made for great difficulty in tightening down the supplied allen bolts each time I needed to re-allign the shaft. I recommend replacing any allen bolts with hex bolts so you can get a ratchet spanner on them. Also to be able to use the original 60 degree washers I had to file the outer edge so that they would slip into the previously mentioned small lipped cup as the one piece rear flange was somewhat thinner than the original. The one piece is alledged to be less able to absorb vibration than the original so it is better to work to a tighter tolerance for your shaft runout than the zx manual states.
  6. Who has the rowdy Bronze zed, seen by the Hare and Hounds Timperley last night.
  7. so is the plan to go ahead? I'd like this front end.
  8. Just a little snippet on this subject; Does the ZX have a filter in the fuel pump inlet? I ask this because I once had a Renault Five turbo which missed and popped and slowed. After much trouble and worrys of a failed turbo I discovered a small cone filter in the pump inlet pipe which was partially blocked with fuel tank debris, a quick blow through and all was well. Theres French engineering for you.
  9. Legrath, where is the conversion kit available from please?

  17. thanks, that turns me off 'em as Im not looking to lay out money on chassis tuning stuff just yet.
  18. I owned an S4 Avant and was very impressed with every aspect of the car. ROughly 6 sec 0-60, traction control that put incredible power down in the wet (if you take the piss though, like dumping the clutch out of a junction with the throttle wide when turning it just turns it off and you spin), great build quality, looks and an amazing Bose sound system............god I miss it!
