  6. I have to do that anyway. Just seen some replica wheels 18" which are interesting. http://www.performancealloys.com/details.asp?procedure=wheel&id_wheels='50x'&id_wheels_manufacturers='Replicas'&id_wheels_sizes='18x7.5'&price='159'&permission=29188265
  7. Sorry for distorting the thread but Retro, is your car lowered on standard wheels, if so how much and on what springs? It looks really well in your signature and I would like to keep standard wheels myself but am tiring of the totally standard look. Ta
  8. Pete, Just out of interest, it seems we share the same home town. Look forward to seeing you out and about. I have a grey tt m reg. Rob
  9. All I can know is cold air is denser than warm therefore contains more oxygen = better combustion. I dont know where the boost pressure is taken from or for sure if denser cold air would give you the just short of 3psi pressure differential you are describing but I suspect it might.
  10. Its not clear then? Ill try and upload a photo of a completed tailgate.
  11. A little help please, does anyone know of a plinth/panel available to fit to the back of the z tailgate when the '93 spec spoiler is removed? It is needed to match in with the rear light units which fit below it. I am changing to a '99 spec spoiler which sits up off the tailgate. OR do I have to weld a plate in and paint that?
  12. the one I saw in Timperley lokked like it had a repair on going on one wing.
  13. There was however Police are involved now after local residents complaints.
  14. Thorley Lane Timperley (I thought I was alone around here) at 1915.
  15. done it. Inner one pulls out then you can release the large wheel.
  16. I have my aircon and windscreen wiper control switch gear removed from the car. I want to take apart the windscreen wiper module, have removed the securing screws so the module is ready to come out apart from the thumbwheels are retaining it in the plastic housing. My question is ;- how are the thumbwheels held in? Will they simply pull off? Would appreciate some experienced advice in case I trash the plastic surround. Thanks
  17. Yes, Nismo, would be interested to know how you got on.
  18. done. Natalies a bit scary no?
  19. Best I get back under the car then to try and eliminate that last 10 thou of run out, hope its not just paint ! Thanks for the advice all.
  20. If the oil isnt getting to the lifters then they will make a lot of noise. If the victims feels that the noise is isolated to one lifter or on bank of lifters then he could rule out the pump. Do the big ends not run in the sump of oil on these engines?
  21. Granted but with the oil px sender failing simultaneously? I would be cautious and check the pump and take it from there. I know the senders are fragile as my own is intermittent but in this case I think he needs to know if his engine/v expensive turbos are being fed oil.
  22. It has the normal splined gearbox end and a flange at the diff.
  23. Looking at the manual diagrams yes it could be oil pump. There is a check for oil pressure by connecting a pressure guage in place of the oil px sender (a crude way of checking it would be to disconnect the sender and see if you get wet). You dont want to be running it I dont think. Personally I would first check your pump and if thats ok listen to exactly where the noise is from as the oil feed splits to either bank of cylinders and contains check vlvs. Listen to your engine through a screwdriver, it sounds mad but you can pinpoint noise this way.
  24. SHould you end up selling your wheels to fit larger brakes then drop me a line as I intend to keep my car so that I can fit standard wheels when I want to.
