This wouldn't work on the early zeds though as the HICAS is fluid controlled not electrically controlled

The later zeds have SRS and the seat belts were only door mounted on the series 1 J-spec zeds.

I would put money on it that it's coming from the small piece of fuel line that sits the front of the plenum, under the throttle body linkage.

With regards to question 2 I think the pink wire shuld go to the handbrake mate, as you are not supposed to have the screen 'viewable' whilst driving. i just hard wired mine to earth ;)
