groover
Im after tinting my targa's so the light still comes into the cab but shades from the sun slightly. I have targa shades, but with them on it feels like you are in a coffin imo. Has anyone tried this and if so what are your feelings? Paul@SWZ
seen quite a few tinted targas and its not a bad idea to be fair so go for it
viniboy
Good idea and I know exactly what you mean about the blinds. I might even do so myself ;)
bird
I quite like mine being untinted Quote Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
groover
untinted in the winter is good but when the sun beats down, which isnt that often at the moment to be fair, but the roof glass visually will also match the limo tints on the rear window, i think it might be cooler inside the cabin as well( i know....open a window or put the a/c on) on a hot day, i'll give it a go. groover
Good luck, if ya need a professional to do them come to Plymouth and we'll do um for ya;) Hi Lisa, i was hoping you'd be at JAE to do them, the thread was a bit of a hint lol. If i have to do it myself, do the plastic tabs that hold the shades come off or do i have to cut round them. Cheers Graham

Cheers Graham TBH mate never done um on a z but would imagine you would have to cut around them as those plastic tabs dont come off I dont think, JAE a bit far away for us and so wont be attending, however will be at zedfest(hopefully) so if you have trouble tinting them we can do them there;)

scotty
I've done mine, love them. bit of a PITA to do though
Paul@SWZ
I tought they were pretty easy to do but the locking pins for the targas are just stuck to the glass so if you remove them you will have trouble getting them to stick back on securely. Just cut around them the job doesn't have to be perfect anyway as no body looks up at them and the roofs have black edges.
Z32
was thinking this also, as i have tinted rear windows, and black car. PMLS at the coffin statement! i agree! those targa cover things are awful, does feel like your sitting in a box! there isnt a lot of head room in the Z (i like that really) wonder how dark/coffin like a slicktop is lol
scotty
Well coffins are very claustrophobic.
groover
I could always remove the locking pins for a better finish and not bother putting them back on, as i never use the shades anymore and most likely never will. Back to the coffin statement: it was worse with tinted side windows(driver and pass), so i replaced them with standard glass and much better. I also found at night it was harder to see out at junctions, but fine during daylight.

scotty
If you are odd, god knows what that makes me, I've been in a coffin :rofl:
groover
youre not odd, each to their own and all that, i just think tinting them you will get the best of both worlds, better shade from the sun, but still enough light getting through. Anyway i think this thread has been done to death, so im just gonna get on with it:smash:
