  3. Just tried the two suspect threads and they are fooked. So definitely need helicoiling now. Also going to get the ARP stud set so this doesnt happen again!!!
  4. Yes Kirbz, I have cometic h/g. The £90 was for new bolts, then found out I could have used the old ones. I also then would of had the two shorter ones and no f**k up, lo..
  5. Wish I just used the old ones and saved £90!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I use. Millers CFS 10/60 for engine Silkolene something for diff MT-90 for box.
  7. I ment without the head on, I will put a load of washers on the bolt to space the gap out so I can load up the thread to make sure it holds before I go putting all the heads back on.
  8. Fook ARP is £205, I thought it was £90 lol. Back to the bolts. :nana2: I think ill get a loada washers and stack them up to test the two holes will go upto torque
  9. On my last Z, I had two turbo failures and head gasket on my last one, no. 6 cylinder dead, exhuast rusted through, snapped downpipe studs just to name a few things. So I am a little p*ssed lol!!!! :D
  10. Thanks for all the support!!!!!!! :duffer: Z's are doing my nut in!!!
  11. Ok, just looked at old 16 bolts and 2 shorter ones. And I was sent 16 the same length (all long) I took the heads off and checked the two threads. They seem to be ok, I wound two fresh bolts down them, a little tight (will get a tap from work tomorrow and clean them up) but the bolts did up tight and seemed ok. I think I will get the ARP stud set and all should be ok.
  12. It was only all done 15k miles ago. I was just checking as they said it was a 3.1ltr engine but it isnt, just the JE pistons. (87.5) Anyway, fook it, thats what it was, long bolts in short holes. I had 16 the same length, it must have bottomed out and just destroyed the thread.
  13. Just cause im a lazy biatch, whats the thread size and pitch? saves me working it out tomorrow at work.
  14. Well Andyduff said I can reuse them, so like he said keep your money or give it to him. You know I dont like taking money spongey!!! Just neet to confirm that the gaskets and head bolts are ok. Ill see if we have any helicoils at wotk, but I dont think we go that big. Ill have to buy some, any idea where I can get some that long?
  15. Mines bored out with Je pistons, but thanks for the offer!!!!
  16. But they crush to seal, how can you reuse them?? and the bolts can reuse too? As for stripping, I just did it how the book said. 30-40 all round. then 123. and it went. Just done the other side and one of those is fooked too. So Both sides are w*ank now!!!!!!! So I guess you cant helicoil it in your own garage? will a machine shop have to do it?
  17. geez, you've made me all happy and cheery saying you'll help me out. I wonder if smithy would just sell one gasket, lol. Then I wouldnt have to buy two. I dont know if I can take money though, loadsa people have a lot of trouble. I know im cursed with them though......lol. Let me go put the other head on then and ill see what happens.........
  18. Ill get a list together mate. Gimme a few days/week. Theres so many bits! What can I do with a brand new installed alarm/imob and tracker? I dont think trackers are transferable. Still need help on what to do with E01 and SAFC.
  19. If someone wants to buy what there is whole for the right money and fix it then they can. Its a 400bhp car and was superb for about the 5 mins it lasted. But I would have thought breaking would make more money. I payed £5500 for the car and want to make back as much as I can. I've thrown a couple of grand at this one too since I have bought it.
  20. I've been going for over a year now trying to get a descent Z'd. I've wasted about 12k so far and just had enough. I am cursed with them. Then I went and crashed my radio control helicopter cause I was so pissed off! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  21. Too right, would need to buy new head gaskets again. Took me a month to save for those ones. I've just had enough. When do you want them Joely? Theres braided lines too!! I better get a list together.
  22. Im so fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing fu**ing pi**ed off its untrue. Just started to bolt a head back on the block, got to the 8th bolt and the fu**ing block thread stripped. Just put on some £145 head gaskets and now they are fu**ing wasted. I cant be fu**ing bothered to get it helicoiled or what ever they do to blocks, I cant afford more head gaskets. I gonna break her now, i've jsut had enough, 2 Z's, both fu**ing crap. This supposide good one is just a pile of w*nk. Ill get a list of bits up. Got nice 18" wheels, gearbox, R34 brakes all round. I geuss thats the main bits. Might be uprated injectors, will have to check. Turbos are reconditioned with 360degree bearings, not done many miles. Dump valves HKS I think. have to check. Spose someone could buy the engine as it is if they want? bored out with JE pistons. I just painted all the rocker covers and cam covers ffs. How the hell o you get out a greedy e01 boost controller and safc fuel thingy??? Its all hard wired in???? FFS, I just spent £500 on a tracker and alarm!!!!!!!! Im sooooooooooooooooo pi**ed off its untrue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Geez, you just cant have a laught these days!!!!!
